    Cholesterol and Atherosclerosis

38, non-smoker, non-drinker, a little soft but not out of shape by any means, always had pretty active jobs, scuba dive, used to ride a bike pretty regularly, shot all kinds of local 2-gun competitions, etc. However I did have mildly elevated BP and cholesterol despite all my efforts. Neither...

Is it normal that new AI's are hard to cycle?

Lube it and cycle it a bunch. If you’re coming from a traditional 90* bolt, the 60* of an AI will feel heavy until you adjust and it wears in a bit. But they’re super smooth once they’ve got a few hundred/thousand cycles on them.

    Firearms FN Spr A3G w/ razor g1 4-20; DD m4v9 20” Larue stealth

…except the A5M XP models all have a 1:10 twist, and this is a 1:12. Either way, a fine rifle to be sure, especially for the price! I wish I was in a position to add it to my safe!

    FNH SPR Action

They’re rare as hen’s teeth anymore. I stocked up when the gettin’ was good, and still paid a decent bit for them. The 5rnd mags work just fine, you’ll just need to get good at reloads lol. Otherwise, lots of patience and about $100/mag is about what you’ll need when they do pop up, sometimes...

Finally got the new US Optics TXH 3-18x50

Yeah, looks like they went back to the old MGR .2/.3 spacing. I’ve never liked the MGR because of that, strongly preferring the GAP with logical .5 spacing instead. Do THAT many people like that wonky crap, or have they just not learned their lesson? Give us .2 or .25 line spacing and call it...

Finally got the new US Optics TXH 3-18x50

Their IG post about it (~6 months ago lol) stated a 10y parallax.

PVA Freedom From The Crown Sale!

I’m guessing it’s a Guy Fawkes reference, and that you’re over the .gov’s shit and wish we were throwing a “party” that day rather than an election. “Remember, remember, the fifth of November…”

Are the FN SPR enthusiasts extinct?

A topic for another thread, I’m sure. :)

Are the FN SPR enthusiasts extinct?

The problem with all of the “fixes” for the factory trigger is: it’s still a single stage. I want a quality two-stage trigger. To my knowledge, there presently are none available for the pre-MOA M70 trigger system.

Are the FN SPR enthusiasts extinct?

I don’t think they’re made anymore, but I would welcome being wrong!

Ever watch the movie Mr. Deeds from 2002 (that hurts saying the year)

Well, I knew I wanted to fly helicopters before I could form intelligible sentences, and I somehow made that happen, at least for a while. But my health had other plans and at the moment I’m unable to hold a medical certificate, so short answer is no, my childhood dream job doesn’t support jack...

    State of the Industry

The only reasons I enjoy going to a match as a spectator rather than a competitor are when: a) I’m totally new and know nothing about the particular discipline the match is about and I want to learn more, 2) I’m too poor to shoot the match/my gear isn’t ready/some other “road block” exists...

    Powder IN-STOCK thread

EVERY time I go to their website and select “in stock,” it tells me powders are out of stock when I select what size jug I want. WTF is the trick? They say in stock when it lists them all, but click on one and then choose your jug size and tell me what it says. They have BL-C(2) and 2520 like...

Opinions on VV N540 powder for 223/5.56 hand loads?

Ah, I hadn’t considered that as I’m loading it purely for a bolt gun. At least in .223c I’m primarily reserving my N133 and H335 for my ARs.

Opinions on VV N540 powder for 223/5.56 hand loads?

I’m mildly surprised to hear that based on what VV’s own load data shows, at least from a velocity standpoint. Powder prices being what they are, I’m accepting of a somewhat lower velocity for a more reasonable price, and I got a good deal on the N540 I’m sitting on, but we’ll see how my rifle...
