    .260 Remington

Seems quit slow for that length barrel. My 19" 260 is doing 2800fps with 130 ELD-Ms with H4350. My 24" 6.5CM had them 2800-2950fps without any trouble with H4350.

Rifle Scopes Burris XTR 3 Vs Athlon Cronus

That's because the FOV on the Helos Gen2 is pretty wide, definitely wider than a Cronus. If your 4 XTR3 3.3-18s were anything like mine then I get why you found them underwhelming. Did you ever have a 5.5-30 model, that can confirm if glass was better?

    Precision Rifle Gear Bipods?

Apex above is more stable, it just leads to a much bigger, bulkier bipod, and most aren't ARCA mount which is what most people use (for competition at least). The Ckyepod (and similar designs) offers a bunch of versatile not found I'm other bipods, and the double and triple pulls are unmatched...

What level of Binos do you need for PRS 22.

Athlon Midas is still enough glass that you can accurately call a hit on post vs target. I've used a variety of different binos for spotting 22 PRS and never felt the glass was the determining factor. More magnification helps at distance but if you need to do a lot of panning (targets in...

What level of Binos do you need for PRS 22.

I never shot a 22 match where a hit couldn't be accurately called, the target almost always moves or you will hear the hit. Decent binos for spotting misses is nice, but because distances are close and targets are small have always found calling corrections difficult inless you are directly...

    300 yard consistency

ES is directly related to group size though. Inside of 150yards you can get away with a lot but at 300yards a high ES is going to give poor performance, the whole point of this this thread. 5 shot groups at 100yards are great if you want to cherry pick groups. Notice how he said best groups...

Rifle Scopes Burris XTR 3 Vs Athlon Cronus

You probably won't like the Cronus then, FOV isn't horrible and you don't see a huge amount of scope body but it is narrow. My XTR3 3-18 has very good glass from 3-12, probably similar to the Styker. However from 12-18 the resolution drops off noticeably, probably still on par with scopes like...

Rifle Scopes Burris XTR 3 Vs Athlon Cronus

My 3-18 XTR3 kinda sucks in glass department, Delta Stryker (very similar to Cronus) is much better. However I like the turrets and FOV better on the XTR3. I think I'd go for the XTR3i 5.5-30, glass is meant to be better than the 3-18, even if the Cronus glass is a bit better better the wider...

Who hunts with a 14-16lb rifle?

Does the biathlon sling work ok underneath a pack pack? I imagine a 100lb pack wouldn’t be great but a day pack shouldn’t be too bad I imagine.

    I Spy New Baby Razor G3 4-24

I sure hope so! A thicker 7D reticle, with only the main cross illuminated, capped windage, a non-stupid tall elevation turret, 31oz scope would be a sweet option. If it’s similar money to the other LOW 4-25 designs then it should be very popular. That’s assuming it’s basically the same as the...

    300 yard consistency

33fps is about as good as you are going to get. Over 10-20 shots you can get better but over 50+ an ES of 30-40fps isn't bad at all.

Any thoughts on 6BR or 6GT?

What ever will run the most reliably in the AT-XC. Can't comment about with one that'll be, but for a competition rifle 100% reliability is what I'd be looking for.

    300 yard consistency

Just shoot inside of 200yards. Unless you need to shoot further for specific competition, why pull your hair out? If you can't get a consistent supply of ammo your rifle likes you are going to be forever ammo lot testing. Try the best ammo your can find: Lapua LR, Eley Tenex, RWS R50, etc...

“Texas Plinking” 1 MOA/1K Yard Challenge Videos

My favorite guy so far has been a guy with a RH action but LH port, so you can load and fix malfunctions without coming off the gun. Then proceeds to come off the gun after every shot....

    Accuracy International Picture Thread

23 is written on the action, was told it was from the last run of rifles (2024). Bolt binds a little when pushing forward, amd bolt lift is pretty damn heavy. It is improving with dry fire though, still haven't shot it yet.

My new AT doesn't feel great either. After a bit of dry fire and grease it feels OK but still feels considerably worse than my Tikkas. I watch videos if guys running AI bolts and wonder how that could be possible with the rifle in current form.

I always like the idea of doing .2 fine increments, that way if I can be bothered fine tuning more I can split the difference between them. But I like your style, load development is shite. I enjoy reloading (so long as it's not at 1am the night before a match) but load development is not...

    Tikka CTR barrel weight?

I have the weight written down but won't be able to view it for 2weeks. Hopefully you get a answer before then.

    Looking at the Leupold Mk5

I'm always amazed Burris never seems well represented. Every review you read about the XTR Pro says it just barely lags behind the RZR 6-36, ATACR 7-35 etc, is same price as Mark 5hd 5-25, better specs and features (IMO), yet no one uses them. Based on price and specs alone the XTR Pro should...
