The departure from "just another action company" ARC's new rifle:

My initial thought regarding a wood cheek piece is that of its integrity. Such a small plank of wood, with holes already drilled for mounting, may not withstand the bumps and bangs of the chassis' intended purpose; it may crack/split.

I like everything about my Archimedes actions. I also like that they are unique (lever).

    Surgeon Actions...what is going on??

Isn't the Impact 737R a "new and improved" Surgeon? If I had my mind set on a Surgeon, and the previous sentence is correct, I would look into the Impact action.

Rifle Scopes Brownell's 5-25x56 MPO is finally in stock!

Got two of the 3-18s in. For what it's worth, one has a mushy illumination knob. One has more "play" in the elevation turret than the other. Neither of the scopes' windage turret markings line up. That's all the criticisms I've got, so far. Haven't taken them out for a look-see, yet.

    ARC Nucleus or Bighorn Origin

Because of American Rifle Company's customer service, innovation, and quality of goods, I will continue to choose ARC first, 100% of the time. Zero regrets and all the confidence.

American Rifle Company New Archimedes Action, New Xylo Chassis, and major Mausingfield revision

There's a disassembly/reassembly video on the ARC site: https://www.americanrifle.com/support Weird. I am able to insert the action wrench without removing the ejector. Maybe ensure the ejector is "pointing forward" by pulling a finger over the outside of the ejector towards the rear of the...

why did ARC suspend Barloc sales?

If you don't have a Borka torque limiter, the one below (10 Nm) seems to work well, and something you can just toss in your bag: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UP1JUI2/ ETA: To torque the Barloc bolt.

Any triggers to avoid with Bighorn TL3?

The BnA trigger top sear, at least the TacSport line, isn't a timing panacea. The sears are different heights, but not different lengths. The different heights address sear drag, but may not fully get positive/negative cock on close to where an individual desires, for a given action.

    Oddly specific question

Also, if you're trying to eliminate cock on close, it would appear the Ultimatum Deadline's design splits cocking between opening and closing efforts: https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/deadline-action-questions.6896132/post-7219593

    Oddly specific question

How often do you anticipate yourself adjusting cock on close? If you're thinking of swapping triggers on a regular basis, it may be more economical to have a 'smith time those different triggers to your Nucleus. This way, you don't run into potentially needing to customize your stock/chassis...

American Rifle Company New Archimedes Action, New Xylo Chassis, and major Mausingfield revision

Basically, the cocking piece drops on the sear a bit. Generally speaking, too much negative cock, and you may have ignition issues.
