    Didn’t think I’d ever say this but I appear to be way over cocked. Have .082” protrusion when cocked and .228” recess when uncocked for a .310” difference. Still recommend working on cocking piece? Or is that difference too much?

    Thank you, I was looking for something like this exactly. Mine measured consistently between 4.02mm and 4.04mm. Looks like I need a low sear. Does that make sense? The surface on my sear (Remington walker or 40x) is pretty easy to get to. Would it be worth trying to stone down that sear surface?

    I ended up going with the direct mount. Got one for a killer price on eBay. 20 moa doesn’t bother me. Would prefer flat but no big deal. What more of a concern is whether or not it will work it 8-40 screws, which is what my receiver is tapped for.

    So looking at a difference of 3.5 oz vs 6 oz by going direct mount vs mount and base. Not huge but about the same price anyways. Do the Near mounts have a recoil lug? Going on a 6CM so not a requirement but nice to have.

    I’m looking for a mount/rings for a Titanium R700 to be used as a mountain rifle. Any suggestions on lightest setups? I’m looking at the Nightforce direct mount as it’s one piece instead of 2 or 3 but open to suggestions. Do not need cant on it but doesn’t hurt to have.

    About the ideal setup. I run Mega MML receivers but I like Seekins a bit more. The Mega relies on torque to keep the barrel nut in place, Seekins has a set screw to help it stay.
