What i find to be awesome in these posts is that you all sound very involved in your parenting....despite all the craziness and all the challenges you care, you're involved. It's wonderful.
thanks, i appreciate the kind words...i really do.
...as a result of injury it has become difficult for me to lift heavy weight for any length of time, tough to maneuver, twist, bend and stand for longer periods, it incurs a lot of pain. I wouldn't be able to change a bunch of positions in the...
thanks everyone, appreciate the help. wasn't familiar with a couple of these places so glad to be made aware of them. some places prefer not to ship to California as ammunition must go through an ffl.
Lawless, prayers for the little guy. it's heartbreaking when children suffer....i truly hope whatever it is he gets better quick and easy. Glad he's going to the hospital. Heard Wake Med is a great place....Pediatric specialists in a Level 1 trauma center so you know they're awesome.
great information
i must admit that i likely misunderstood some of the prior recommendations i had read concerning the topic, it did sound as though many were advocating only cleaning the barrel when accuracy suffered.
i too was taught to do a light cleaning after each day at the range and...
interesting.....curious to see if others have had similar experiences with this method.
would you perhaps be willing to share which other calibers you have you tried and succeeded employing this strategy?
i would imagine that a .005 inch difference in cartridge overall length in either direction is not too bad at all
from a purely academic perspective i wonder where most of the variability comes from....length of the projectiles, seating die depth consistency?
i'm not sure exactly to what...
A few years back i was discussing this vey issue, the efficient translation of skills, with a good friend who was also at that time a well known competitor and shooting team manager for one of the leading manufacturers.
He recounted the experience of a Japanese gentleman who while not allowed...
let's see if i can help( with some cut and paste from the internet).
Cannelures are grooves placed in a circumference of the projectile....in the black powder days it held lubricant to reduce the rate of bore fouling by black powder residue. In modern bullets, the cannelure provides a strong...
i understand what you're saying, i just don't think that's the answer...... I recognize that people did horrible things to each other on both an individual as well as mass scales well before there were any religions.
is there perhaps an innate element to all of this, locked somewhere in our...
in retrospect i think the most wasteful or inefficient experiences i've had to date in reloading relate to bouncing around too much....playing with too many powders and projectiles and primers....it just added too many variables to what should be a more logical step wise data driven process.
i...
it's so hard for me to accept that despite countless examples, countless years, countless opportunities, countless religions, lessons, faiths, philosophies, tragedies and pain we continue to effect these horrors on each other.
i remain in awe of the foresight, appreciation and efforts in recognizing and securing inalienable rights.....regardless of race, religion, creed. I really love this country and what it stands for. I pray that if something like this were ever to befall us or our loved ones, perhaps someone...
just a thought:
I commend your son for working at defining direction and purpose in life.
If your son truly has an interest in Engineering i would strongly advocate he pursues an academic course.
Several of my colleagues’ children joined the military with similar hopes, most (not all) ended...
don't mean to redirect the thread but great point....the scope part of the equation is so important
....wish i had researched scopes a bit more prior to purchasing my first one but i was anxious to get going and it was on sale. Not that it's a bad scope by any means but in retrospect it wasn't...
308pirate, great insight as always.
I have no doubt that proper fit and positioning are imperative and critical determinants with respect to controlling recoil characteristics and vectors as well as minimizing the effects of intrusive forces. Mr. Galli's book has a nice section on this very...
I shot a lot of pistol and some revolver over the years but never liked shooting a 357 magnum, i could shoot it quite accurately but it wasn't fun at all and i found i rarely if ever took it to the range...... or if i did it was to shoot 38 specials.
I very much wanted to learn to shoot rifle...
i'll definitely try the 5 mil diamonds...i like having the angles and cross hair pattern. i will try to mark the center of the target with red..makes it easier for my aging eyes
