Again, Thank you! The V8 has evolved a ton but the PSR model even more so. All of these improvements were pushed to the CAL and we eliminated the PAN so yes, it would seem more "stable" as there's one less axis of movement (please note having solid PAN and CANT is benificial for dynamic...- Kasey

Bipod for new build
Thank you for your patronage! Not sure what Atlas you have but the CAL is different than the V8 or PSR models in that it is CANT only and really low profile when stowed. As far a matches go, hate to say it but you'll use a bag for front support more than a bipod from what I've seen.- Kasey

Bipods, what are you using?
You dont say where or what you'll be hunting but if shooting with a bipod that goes to the ground, be it prone, sitting or standing, having CANT is a great feature to have. Believe it or not Earth is not flat.... Also, cost was brought up, again, you dont say where or what your hunting but...- Kasey

My apologies, I overlooked the hunting part, Pan and Cant can be a benefit in hunting, so I'd go with an PSR model, this is a great choice for hunting and will work just fine for range work. Need a Bi-pod with Solid Cant Lockout
I've never asked Terry Cross the inventor of the Pod-Loc why he used "Loc" instead of "Lock" but I suspect it's because it does not LOCK. :) On the CAL and SCAL There is a nylok nut under the Pod-Loc, you can adjust Pre-Tension with this nut, set it to the tension you like then use the Pod-Loc...- Kasey

Why are you leaning a rifle to move horizontally? Cant you slide it left or right with shoulder as pivot point? So to adjust Pre-tension, remove the pod-loc, there is a nylok nut, you can adjust PRE-TENSION with this nut then re-instal the Pod-loc which gives you a lever to ADD tension. You...- Kasey

With your screen name you might be thinking of the AI buttspike, I read that on the AI website or in a brochure years ago. The Accu-Shot is made to be, for lack of a better term, the "steering wheel" of the rifle. It's used with the off-hand to obtain and maintain the desired sight picture...- Kasey

Atlas monopod changeable foot?
The monopod was designed to elevate the buttstock and to maintain a sight picture. I would not recommend direct contact monopod to bench, as that is a hard contact having a "soft" interface i.e. the heel of offhand will deliver the best results.
