Rifle Scopes Is there a market for a good MPVO

I thought it would to, part of reason took me so long to try it. Ultimately I’m a function over form guy, though. It just plain works so far. Actually balances better in current setup than most other previous iterations.

Precision Rifle Gear Let’s Talk Bipods

Ran Harris for decades and finally switched last year to Atlas. Would not consider going back to Harris now.

Rifle Scopes Is there a market for a good MPVO

Put another weekend in with the HELOS 2-12 on an sig MCX virtus 11.5 SBR and really liking it. RMR piggyback at 12 o’clock. Primary use is critters and steel out to 600m. This is my “if I could only have one rifle” setup. Have tried what feels like everything from Eotech with 3 and 6x magnifier...

Night Vision NV and thermal kills...

Five more for the weekend. All with 6.5 CM shooting 100 ELD VT. The pic with tripod is where one stopped, had 10 run within five yards of my position. Difficult hunting with the pigs trying to get into the hay bales with the cows and calves.

    Rifle Scopes Short scopes

Been very happy with my S3 4-25 so far, but only about 3 months of use on it. If you qualify for Expert Voice I think it’s a great value.

Hunting & Fishing Pack same dimensions as Eberlestock Gunrunner but...

https://kifaru.net/products/the-scabbard No experience with that model, but love my kifaru packs and have been using them for 15 years.

And another 5 tonight. All with 556 mk262 tonight.

Night Vision NV and thermal kills...

Productive evening with the youngest son. 5 recovered, two or three more hit with 556 and ran off. The 100 ELD VTs out of the 6.5cm continues to impress, sitting them down. I was shooting cleanup for him.

    6.5 100 grain ELD-VT fragmentation question

Not farther than 200m. Was feeling cheeky and missed at 840m…. Past 600m would switch to 143 ELDX. Should hopefully knock some down in the 2-400m range over next couple trips, maybe even out to 600m. Have access to a new property that hasn’t been hunted much and they’ve been coming out into...

    6.5 100 grain ELD-VT fragmentation question

Pretty much any hit from 1” below diaphragm and up has dropped within 20 yards. Only thing close in terms of terminal performance that I’ve seen is 120 ballistic tips out of a 6.5 rem magnum. That’s over 35 years of hunting pigs and probably close to 2k dead pigs. I’m a fan, especially for the...

    6.5 100 grain ELD-VT fragmentation question

I hunt near Sweetwater in West Texas. No doubt would work on your deer. Just make sure it groups well in your rifle. Some recent pigs killed with it….

    6.5 100 grain ELD-VT fragmentation question

Oh yeah. Two deer and 20 or so pigs so far. Very impressed with results and is my primary bullet for everything except elk. May actually try it next year for elk.

    MPVO for Tactical Games Thoughts/Recommendations

If you’re curious with the concept, I would echo glassaholics recommendation to buy and try the Helios 2-12. I have exactly one hunting trip and steel session with mine, but was blown away by it. Have tried all sorts of different shit over the years but for the price that scope is a home run for...

    MRGG-A (6.5 CM) vs 6 ARC?

I would look at how far you realistically want to shoot, and the cost of ammo for each. If under 600m and any kind of hunting application I would go with the 6.5cm shooting Hornady 100 ELD-VTs at under $1.50/rd for anything smaller than elk for best likely terminal performance. If shooting...

Athlon Helos With Stiff Illumination Dial

Bought one a few weeks ago. The battery cap itself on illumination dial was STOOPID tight and thought was gonna break trying to get off and insert battery, but dial itself wasn’t too bad and has improved with use. No issues now. Likely just a qc issue. Everything else has been great on scope and...

Night Vision Laser speed/ Knockoff lasers

I’ve been running a somogear PEQ15 for 6 months and have no complaints. Just have to confirm zero each night before I go out hunting pigs, but super easy to do. Whether a function of the unit or my handguard I’ll occasionally see some drift, but quick to rectify. For the price it’s hard to beat...

    MPVO Opinions

Recently bought a Helos BTR 2-12 and gotta say I’ve been impressed for the price. It’s on my do all 11.5 MCX SBR with a piggy back RMR at 12 o’clock. Great for critters out to 400 and no issues ringing steel out to 600m. For the price it’s almost worth testing as a proof of concept first. If...

    Thermal Coyote hunting round

I would try at least a box of the Hornady 100 ELD VT to see how they group. They have been spectacular for terminal ballistics in my 6.5 Creedmoor. Granted will be traveling slower but should still work well.

    Thermal Coyote hunting round

6.5 Creedmoor shooting factory Hornady 100 ELD VT would get my vote. Was having similar issues with pigs and 5.56, not so much anymore since changing.
