    Resize loaded ammo ?

I use my 1.630 headspace guage to zero my Hornady bump guage and check calibration on my RCBS case mike. This is not necessary because they are used as comparators, but I like to see what and where the numbers are. For instance, The case mike should zero out on the headspace guage, but it...

    SB 308 die overworks brass?

Oh yeah, but only if they have mostly fired with moderate loads otherwise I loose pockets first

    SB 308 die overworks brass?

While I have not had exactly the same experience as Mr. Garret, I fully agree with him. I have never needed SB dies, and I too have run into some really "balloony" looking cases. I would just snag up a regular FL die of your choice and use that and save the SB for when you really need it.

    Resize loaded ammo ?

"Hope you have a head spacing gauge Cheers!" I have three, and a PTG 1.630 headspace guage to check the calibration (for my .308)

    Resize loaded ammo ?

As many times as I have seen people, myself included, get a primer sideways and crush the crap out of it and then have to push it back out... And then there are those who fail to de-crimp primer pockets and crush the crap out of the primer and have to push it back out... Maybe primers have to be...

    Resize loaded ammo ?

I dunno about you, but I have never held my head over the press when I load ammo and there is no poor slob around here except me. I have even been known to (gasp!) tumble loaded ammo. As for the slight shoulder bump that this factory ammo needed, I could not and cannot see what could set it off...

    Resize loaded ammo ?

Which is precisely what I use, I had some over long factory PMC a while back, this did the trick. Of course, there was a guy on another forum running around flappimg his wings and squeaking "Danger, Will Robinson, Danger, Danger, you're gonna blow yourself up!"

Advanced Marksmanship How do you calculate wind correction without a ballistic calculator?

Well, I sure have found out that a lot of what I learned years ago was incorrect (first edition of Ultimate Sniper) wow, explains why a few things didn't work... At least I know where and what to study more of now, thanks for that. Geez, what a bunch of wasted time, kinda like being taught 2+2=3.9

bulky fast powder alternative to Trail Boss?

What bullet are you planning on using?? I might have some software that could help.

bulky fast powder alternative to Trail Boss?

No pistol powders are readily found right now, Recobs is where I bought mine a few months ago, but they are out right now. I wish I had bought more...

Using CCI 34 primer in GMM clone

That is the trick! Uniform the durn pockets for semi's! I only do it once though, cases just don't last that long in my M1a's and AR's.

bulky fast powder alternative to Trail Boss?

VV Tin Star is direct competition to Trail Boss and VV powders have a rep for clean burn. That said, I have never even loaded a sub-sonic .308 (on purpose anyway) so I have no idea if Tin Star will work or not...

    Multiple rifles in one caliber

I have, over the years, accumulated more than one sizing die, so I am able to leave them set up to individual rifles, I like this! If I was to do it over, I would just have custom sizing dies made for each rifle and not look back. There is no problem with one size fits all as far as...

What brass usually has the smallest amount of weight different between cases?

Gawd,,,wait'il he finds out about weighing primers,,dropped my SD by 3...

    Short stroking semi auto .308

Ya think maybe that's why they made it adjustable??

That says it all, right there.

Winchester primers vs. CCI-200 primers as indicator of pressure in 308/7.62

Capacity is what counts, same weight cases can have different capacity's. I am a firm believer in 34's for gas guns, and with all of the problems I have read about with late production Win. primers, I just don't use them in my M1a.

Unorthodox methods that work for you

The concept is fine, but why not get a spacer made?

    "high" standard deviation... why?

I have always checked h20 capacity by using a case that was fired in my rifle before resizing, but if you are sorting new brass, those plugs are what you need.
