Maggie’s THE JUST F'N SEND IT PODCAST

I can personally attest to this man’s knowledge of K9s. Last week we had a lengthy convo in regards to my GSD. BLKWLFK9 offered several pointers & so far sage advice borders more on prophecy; the dog learns quickly & his behavior models that which was foretold. My GSD is very protective of...

We lost a good man today...

RIP Veer. Veer was obviously a very intelligent man. He was very witty as well. I’ll forever miss the epic smack downs he delivered to Pickle Bunny.

    Casablanca

If you’re watching old WW II movies you can’t forget about “The Big Red One.” Lee Marvin was a great actor & the movie was outstanding.

Has anyone actually had a polymer mag fail on them?

I tried this different ways in the past few minutes & I’ve got slightly different answers. If I suspend the rifle in the air, holding it by the PMAG only & run the bolt it will bind. Here’s another variation: if I hook the stock (A5) in the armpit w/ say 1/2 of that same pressure & run the...

Has anyone actually had a polymer mag fail on them?

I’d beg to differ. I have a trued 700 that I feed w/ Magpul AICS mags & it runs like a champ. I’ve never had any issues related to feeding the action. Period.

What NON-politician do you think would make a good POTUS?

You can add Jon Voight to this list as well. The crowning jewel to this thread would be Rush Limbaugh.

    Hoplite Arms

If you’re going this far I want to see it blown up w/ 25 lbs of tannerite as well. After watching that video I sat down & ordered a DD rifle. Just saying...

    Shot timers

US Competition Pocket Pro II. I’ve been using one for years & they’re great. They’re very easy to use.

Has anyone actually had a polymer mag fail on them?

Even the shit mags are still good for training as long as they feed most of the time. I keep those mags because they induce malfunctions. I paint the bottom half of the mag red so they don’t get mixed w/ good mags. Clearing malfunctions whether in real life or on the clock is an essential...

Has anyone actually had a polymer mag fail on them?

As for bolt guns I really like both Accurate Mags & P-Mags (AICS) . No issues over the years. I can’t comment on other brands. As for 5.56? I’ve seen a few P-Mags fail. Most have been due to cracked feed lips. In fairness, most of the mags I’ve seen fail are in a training environment. We...

    Boots for field matches

I recently bought a pair of coyote colored Danner Full Bore boots. I liked them enough to buy a black pair as well. These boots wear like a pair of running shoes.

    Vectronix PLRF15 Owners Manual

I got this years ago on the ‘Hide from another member. It took a bit of looking, but figured I’d pass on the good deed that was done for me. I hope this helps.

    Boots for field matches

Another badass pair of Danner boots is the DFA (Direct Flight Assault). If your looking for comfort of a running shoe & max support these boots are for you. I’m on my second pair & I got 4+ years out of the first pair & I’m on 3+ w/ the second pair. https://www.danner.com/dfa-8-black-gtx.html

    Boots for field matches

DANNER Full Bore. You have a choice of black / coyote. I got a pair like two weeks ago & they’re super comfortable.

Advanced Marksmanship What to do during the lockdown to build, improve, maintain skills?

I’ve gotten some decent pistol / carbine time since the crackdown. I’ve also written two classes on patrolling / small unit tactics & another on improvised shooting positions for this year when training resumes.

Suppressors School me on OSS 5.56 suppressors

I shot the OSS 7.62 can on a 5.56 AR under overhead cover about two months ago. I think it sounded really good. It was much quieter than I’d expected. It was daylight so I couldn’t see flash. Recoil impulse was smooth & the guy was using a BCM charging handle which vented the gas well. I...

    Suppressors MK18 Suppressor

There’s lots of great choices listed above. I wouldn’t discount anyone’s opinion or advice. As you research suppressors, you’ll find that no can does everything “best.” Each individual can has areas where it excels & where it fails to reach the levels of performance found in others. This is...

Shooting Both Eyes Open with optics..Do You?

I’ve been shooting everything w/ both eyes open for probably at least 15+ years. I couldn’t give up the situational awareness & peripheral vision gained by shooting w/ both eyes open. As far as corrective lenses go, I normally wear “athletic glasses” or contacts to the range. In January I...

    Call your grandma or mother...

I remember hearing many of the same stories from my grandparents who grew up in the depression. One one side, both grandparents grew up the children of farmers & life was rough. I remember stories of smearing lard on bread just to give it taste. My other grandmother rarely spoke of the...
