    Lots of fuddlore and incorrect terminology in this thread. Buy a brand new stripped lower receiver. It must be recorded (not registered) on the 4473 as an "Other Firearm" so confirm that with the FFL before starting paperwork. From there you can build it into a pistol with a brace.

    2 Tripod Question

    Putting aside the questionable logistics of this affair as noted above, I would put the smaller/lighter tripod as the rear support. I would absolutely want the stiffer tripod supporting the rifle's entire weight. The smaller tripod would be for additive stability rather than intrinsic support.

    No. I had hoped to do the same thing but it is not possible The longer barrel doesn't fit. The section of the slide with the integral compensator is a fair bit narrower than the barrel itself.

    Whew. Spicy indeed. Whose barrel and what length is it? Makes me wish I got some when it was still available. IIRC it was almost double the price of IMI 77gr so I never bothered grabbing any but I clearly should have. I didn't realize how much better it would be compared to the 75gr BTHP.
