    Tesla Charging Stations...

I’m curious what the electric bill would be running these 240/100amp chargers. I mistakenly installed a “100% efficient” electric boiler for my radiant floor heating in my new insulated garage and was hit with $450-$500/month electric bills just to keep the temp above 48 degrees. Add an electric...

    DEF shortage

My directional drill burns about 6-8 gallons of DEF a day so we buy DEF by the barrel on pallets. This is not a good situation. As soon as I get low on DEF, the engine goes into limp mode.

Need a machinist for a motorcycle project

Well guys, we’ve got a working sprocket. We went with the original idea of turning 2 sprockets into 1. The long-term solution is to find a place to build several 1 piece sprockets from scratch, but this will get me moving and prove the concept. Thanks for the responses.

Need a machinist for a motorcycle project

I thought about threading the output shaft. Honda used this method on their 125 and 250 2 strokes with a 8mm bolt and conical? washer. Yes it’s locktited but it’s also rotating in the direction to constantly tighten the bolt. The shaft is extremely hard and there’s less material than a Honda. I...

Need a machinist for a motorcycle project

Yes, that’s what we’re trying right now. The sprocket is 7mm thick so you’re almost machining half of the strength out where it rides on the output shaft. I bought 2 new sprockets so I’m hoping we can sacrifice one to add material to the backside. He thinks we can heliarc weld the pieces...

Need a machinist for a motorcycle project

Here is a zoomed in picture of another conversion that was done. This is the only other conversion that I’m aware of and this was done with the help of someone connected to Suzuki motorcycle division. They also used an offset front sprocket but they won’t respond to my email. Here is a picture...

Need a machinist for a motorcycle project

I could’ve done an offset rear sprocket or machined the rear hub but then I’m changing the chain guide alignment and chain slider as well. Plus I change rear sprocket sizes much more than front sprockets so that would be an extra cost as well. The engine can’t be moved over anymore without...

Need a machinist for a motorcycle project

I need the countershaft sprocket to be offset 3.5mm from the OEM position to line up with the RMZ rear wheel and swingarm. There isn’t another model that uses these output shaft splines. I’ve called every manufacturer.

Need a machinist for a motorcycle project

Awesome, I’ve got a local guy trying to make something happen. I’d like a proper one piece sprocket instead of something welded when I’m hitting a jump in 4th gear. I managed to put this Suzuki 125 into the newer aluminum frame but my last hang up is the chain alignment. Here are a few pics for...

Need a machinist for a motorcycle project

Hey guys, I need someone that has the capability of making a custom offset countershaft sprocket. It looks like an EDM is preferred for the inner splines. I’d be interested in 5-10 pieces to help offset the setup costs. Most oem sprockets are heat treated Chromoly that is also case hardened and...

Maggie’s The Welding and Metalworking Thread

Thanks, I know the inner splines on the sprocket are the most difficult. I’ve talked with a few companies that do custom gears but everyone is 24-40 weeks out and their machines are running 24/7. Also, I don’t have a large quantity to offset setup costs.

Maggie’s The Welding and Metalworking Thread

I know this might be a long shot, but has anyone here machined a countershaft sprocket for a transmission or driveshaft? I’m almost done with my 125 2-stroke aluminum frame conversion and I need an offset front sprocket. I’ve already had a few local shops drop the ball due to workload and the...

    I have the CovAIDS :)

My employer hasn’t been paying anyone to sit at home since last year so my decision was easy. At this point everyone who is scared of it should have gotten the “vaccine “ or continued to hide in their houses. It’s time to get shit done without milking the quarantine system.

    I have the CovAIDS :)

I don’t understand the infatuation with running to get a test. I would stay away from at risk family members if I was sick regardless if I tested for Covid. If this country or my employer actually recognized recovered immunity I’d have played the game, went through the quarantine and added to...

Who is thinking about the new Bronco?

My wife got hers just before Thanksgiving. Black Diamond mid package. She loves the look and it will never see anything more than a gravel road. The 2.3L is pretty terrible for fuel mileage. She’s averaging 18.2 mostly in town driving. We’ll eventually get a hardtop. I’ve installed a few...
