Rifle Scopes Scope ring height for Savage 10FCP

I don't have the gun with me - that's why I was asking. I've been doing this a long enough time to know how to calculate - I just don't have any dimensions off the firearm. Sorry if I explained that poorly up front.

Rifle Scopes Scope ring height for Savage 10FCP

Is that around 1" from pic rail to tube center?

Rifle Scopes Scope ring height for Savage 10FCP

My brother is setting up his Savage 10FCP with a Bushnell ERS 3-21x50 scope. I don't have the gun or the scope and he's not familiar with scope ring height calculations. It has the factory Savage base (I think). What height rings do I need? I'm thinking 1" would be safe and 1.1" would be...

    Optics WTB: 34mm rings

Anyone have 34mm rings they're selling? Prefer Vortex PMR or Seekins. Will be mounting a Bushnell ERS 3-21x50 onto a Savage 10 FCP-SR. Not 100% sure what height I need, but I think something in the 1.1" range would be safe. Shoot me a PM if you have something.

    Rifle Scopes Delta Stryker HD

I think upgrades are not optical. That being said, beetroot did hit on an interesting point - with high-power FFP scopes, optimizing the scope mounting to your eye position (scope height and forward/aft position), and configuring the eyepiece and parallax is absolutely CRITICAL. I spent...

Rifle Scopes Delta Stryker HD 4.5-30x56

I can't speak for his, but mine is dead on. I did a 10-shot test once a while back where I started at zero, fired a shot, dialed up .5 mils, fired, dialed back to zero, fired, dialed up 1 mil, fired, dialed back to zero, fired...etc going up an additional .5 mils each time and keeping POA the...

Rifle Scopes Vortex PST G2 FFP 5x25 vs. others

Delta Stryker should be on your list. I've tried everything in the sub-$2k market and I feel it's the best value. Steiner T5xi was very disappointing to me. SWFA HD 5-20 is awesome, but dated. Razor Gen 2 is great, but more expensive than the Stryker and I like the Stryker a hair better...

Love the Razor Gen 2 - it will meet/exceed your expectations for casual steel shooting.

Rifle Scopes 150 Scopes tested, Results Posted !

This is very cool. I only had one scope with tracking issues, and the issue wasn't tracking precision - it was that the erector wasn't perpendicular to the scope body and reticle. I used the cap on the vertical adjustment knob to set level, used a plumb-bob on the other end for level and the...

I've been running my factory base for years with zero issues.

Mine has 15 mils of elevation with a 0moa mount on my Tikka CTR. How much does yours have left?

Rifle Scopes Parallax vs Image Focus

Yes, diopter setting is absolutely critical for sharp reticle and target picture happening simultaneously with no parallax. I spend a significant amount of time setting diopter properly on an FFP scope. It's noticeably less critical on an SFP.

Rifle Scopes Bushnell ERS vs LRHS

Glass on the ERS is going to be better from the one ERS and couple of LRHS models that I've looked through.

Rifle Scopes Scope rings differences in price but is there a difference?

The only cheap rings I've had good luck with were SWFA. I typically use Seekins or Vortex PMR (they're the same thing). Around $100 and never had an issue with any of them. If you're really on a budget and you have a 30mm tube, the SWFA rings are a good bet as well.

Tikka T3x CTR vs. Tikka T3x Tac A1?

I've owned a Varmint and CTR - I actually like the CTR barrel better. It lasts about 10-11 shots before getting too hot (unless it's 100+ outside, and then you get 8-9 shots). The Varmint gives you an extra 1-2 shots before starting to throw them, but takes quite a bit longer to cool off...
