Hunting & Fishing 33 nos vs 30 nos LR elk

338 and don't over think. I am not a 30cal mag guy, had them and OK, well before new bullet and powders now , but never saw the performance in flight or wound channels compared to 338. My fav diameter bullet because in my experience, works, good wound channel on big tuff animals. I use 250gr...

One .308 to rule them all

POF Revolution, they don't get much love on the Hide but are quite light under 7# when comparing.

    7 mag or 28 Nosler

Another vote for 280ai if building a light weight hunt rig all the horsepower needed close to 7rm but standard action with room for an extra round. In my book its all about weight, lighter is righter. Animals don't care what the headstamp is, only about a hit in the engine room with a quality...

    Mark 4

Give this a look, never used it for hunting or PRS but went to 2 boomershoots and no issue seeing splashes and calling shots to 800 plus in snain and blowing wind and good sunlight. Had a few shooters come over ask what I was using and take a look and they were all impressed. If I was looking...

Hunting & Fishing What would you pick between these three factory rifles?

Sold quite a few Ridgelines. Light, good trigger, good accuracy. Also look at Fierce, for sometime, had them on special ordering meaning, couldn't keep them on the shelf. Kimber Ascent from my experience, very ammo specific accuracy but if I was going after sheep / goat, I would give it a...

    Mark 4

I will also add, in the retail business for 17 years, we did some demos and covered up as best we could optics so viewers could not entertain the brand name they were looking through. We did a quick questionnaire before and after. No where near scientific or means a thing but we did have some...

    Va Gun Confiscation Looming!

Great to see but what effect will it really have? The voters already spoke what they want. VA is the battleground now. If we lose, the ememy from within game plan has truly come to fruition to change a whole state out in the open.

Rifle Scopes Best compact and light weight scope

Leupold VX3i 2.5-8x, small and light 12oz but I guess that is crazy light.

Old tried an true prevails in battle again

Many bears wondering around Gattlinburg? Bears walk around Tennessee motel? Easy, file a suit that both the city and motel failed in their responsibilities to protect him and put his life in danger from bears. He made a conscience decision to visit their town, spend money so they can have the...

Virginia Democrats pre-file assault weapons ban SB-16. Line in the sand has been drawn.

I believe it goes forward no matter what the citizens on VA do. They have too much power and backing not too. It will go the court. This is where it gets interesting. And this in the first line drawn for other states that will follow as demographics and voting power change. The enemy within...

    Movie Theater Ford VS Ferrari

I will wait to watch at home, wife and I hate going to movies these days dealing with all that goes on. Very interesting story that should be told. My time was street racing. GT 40 is my #3 car. Tbolt is and will always be #1.

Who hunts with their large frame gasser?

NO! Absolutely not. 1500 feet of scree just in the morning, miles on greasy bowling balls. Light is right, lighter is righter, lightest is bestest. Bears have been taken with just about every cartridge on the planet but..... Until you have witnessed in person the savagery of old brownie get...

    Need a new rain jacket...

It has to be north of $500 to work. ;) I have Frogg Togg UL picked up at SW for $10, for average wear it works just fine. I rarely wear pure rain proof, I prefer soft shell that works for me 90% of my time in Alaska, for the 10% it doesn't, I throw on my Frogg Togg.

Hunting & Fishing What would be the "best" budget scope on the market right now? ($400-$1000)

Wow, good for your shooting partner. According to AKFG, the average shot is 275 yards. I used a Leupold FX3 Alaskan fixed 3x for decades. Never needed or wanted more.

    Hunting & Fishing Spotting scope 15 45 65 or 15x56 binos??

Alaska hunter here. 10x binos for glassing for animals, used 90% of the time. Started with 7x 45 years ago and that power did just fine. Top shelf quality needs to help with eye strain but still happens glassing for up to 10 hours. Once game is spotted, use spotting scope to see if game is...

Rifle Scopes Shout out to SWFA

Replaced my first SS years ago over more of a complaint about elevation turret slop. This is how companies earn brand loyalty from their customers. Lose a little today but gain a whole lot more over the years.

All-around rain gear for PRS shooting

Absolutely but there has to be a roof. My first time was cool and wet, laying in mud. Not sure a poncho would have worked without pants or similar. Last few times used an EZ up and totes. The guys next to us had tarps P corded up to block the blowing snain. I don't have lots of experience, just...

    Justified

Started good for me but started falling apart the last 2 seasons or so until I lost interest last season. To me, it moved away from Rylan as the center focus and more onto others finally around Boyd the bad guy friend and Raylan lost who he was early in the series.

All-around rain gear for PRS shooting

My favorite and personal use is Patagonia Talus pants but look at these. https://www.mountainhardwear.com/mens-touren-softshell-pant-1765351.html
