    I've had kind of similar results with the Staball line, 6.5 is one of my go to powders, especially for Creedmoor, Match is also a good addition to the stable, but HD has not been stand out for me where I tried it in 7 PRC.

    Why? Both the Hornady load data and Hodgdon show higher velocities with H1000 speed powders, and even slower than H4831 speed, in 160gr class bullets. I've played with H4831sc in 7 PRC a little, but didn't see any apparent benefits over the slower powders I've used that better fit the expansion...

    I'd honestly give Staball 6.5 a try, it's been a great shooter for me and has usually given at it near top velocities, even with lighter bullets. Here is one of my 130gr loads for my Sig Cross, admittedly an 18" barrel, but also a heavier bullet, I'd expect you could find a good load around...

    Possibly, but by all accounts the Geisseles are reliable now, available in multiple sizes now, and are no longer crazy priced, especially if you have a ton of regular lowers laying around like me the math of setting up new lowers and buying new mags for a little less than what the Geissele mags...
