This justification for stifling change is also stifling growth. What does "matches are still selling out" mean? It gives the impression that "who cares?" as long as the same 200 shooters continue spending there money. Maybe it's purely a regional problem, but IMO there is a lack of matches...- Long Range 338

This is true as well. I always invite others to the range for shooting sessions. Everyone is a long range shooter or wants to learn until it’s time to show up. Then it’s the wife, the kids, etc. I’m not sure if it’s a time issue or intimidation factor but the struggle is real.- Long Range 338

How is 7PRC better than 7 Rem Mag?
Apparently Hornady wasn't able to continue loading with the original powder they spec'd the factory ammo velocities with. Guys in my area are having good luck with powders in the H1000 burn rate. I'm currently running Staball HD and it runs well with the case as full as possible.- Long Range 338

OP Sorry if this has been answered previously but this thread is TLDR with too many derails. In a nutshell the 7 PRC is setup for long range shooting in a factory rifle with factory ammo. You pretty much nailed it here from my limited experience. The smaller club matches are more relaxed and more fun. To be honest the small matches had the better stages that weren't just copy/paste. 300 Norma Mag
N570 is the optimum powder for performance in the 300 NM but know the price to be paid. I would recommend cleaning at shorter intervals than you may be used to, it definitely seems to help with consistency.- Long Range 338
