    Garmin Xero C1 Pro chronograph

Pelican 1200. The Garmin is so small, there’s almost too much room in this little case.

    VARMINT/COYOTE GUNS, SHOW EM

Factory offering. Bergara B14 HMR in 6.5CM. Loading Nosler 90gr Varmageddon over 42.0gr of Varget. Gives 3150fps and 1980 FT-LBS of energy. This one’s new. I’ve only done load development so far. Looking forward to trying it out.

    The new Garmin xero?

Thank you. Yeah what kind of rifle doesn't matter, I know. I have found a few others now who have posted that this is not an issue with the Garmin unit. The Garmin being transmitting all of the time instead of being tripped on buy an acoustic trigger is a much better idea. Now, if I could...

    The new Garmin xero?

I was wondering if anyone has tested the Garmin on a busy firing line. For example, if the guy on the bench next to me (maybe 4 or 5 feet away) is shooting a big magnum rifle with a brake, will the Garmin pick up his shots too? Just curious because the LabRadar unit does have that problem.

Folding Chassis or Fixed- Your Preference & Why?

Another vote for a folder. Easier cleaning. Shorter height when folded for my already over loaded safe. And I have a case that I sometimes use that will only accommodate a folder.

    6.5 Creedmoor barrel length.

I have a Kreiger #11 straight pipe (1.25”) finished at 28” (1:8”) and the big Heathen brake. I built this for distance. And with the 140gr class of bullets, it does pretty good out to a mile (2905fps).

    Yeah….sneezing is verboten!

What did you do in the reloading room today?

So I decided to have a look in one of my match ammo cases for one of my LR rigs. (Since I had not fired it since May 2022.) What I found was 60 fired cases. If I remember correctly, I was in a match and I just forgot about those dirty cases….until this morning. Time to de-cap and then into the...

    .45-70 Government powder for Sharps

I’m using smokeless (IMR4198) in my Chiappa 1874 Quigley Sharps. I’m not using a real heavy bullet, nor is it cast. Here’s what works for me with the 34” 1:18” barrel. IMR4198 38gr, CCI BR2, Campro 450gr Spitzer (full copper plated) bullet (2270fps), CBTO 2.200” (+.005” jump) I know it’s not...

    6.5 Creedmoor barrel length

I kind of went against the consensus. Mine is finished at 28”. It’s a 1:8” Kreiger #11 (1.25”) straight pipe. Helps with a bit of velocity (2905fps). With 140gr Berger Hybrids, it reaches a mile (on a calm day). It’s just a distance target rifle since it is heavy.

    Favorite Target for Load Development?

This is my favorit. if you print it full size, the increments are 1 inch. (Sorry about the crappy resolution.)

    26" 223 Match shooting 77SMK over Varget

    My best load for a 26” 1:8” twist with 77gr SMK’s… Lapua brass, BR4, 24.1gr Varget, .010” jump off the lands. Gives 2928fps (70deg). I no longer use the 77gr bullet. I have switched to 80gr VLD’s. Might help…?

What did you do in the reloading room today?

Today’s task…precision plinkers. Free brass (once fired range pick-ups). 6.5CM: 44.0gr IMR4350, CCI BR2 primers, Berger 140gr Hybrid Target bullets. Seated to 2.2390” CBTO (.010” jump).

    Building the Perfect Reloading Room

This was long overdue… Those are In-Line Fabrication’s 4” Micro Ultra mounts for the presses. I raised the presses off the bench surface, and chose these mounts to move the downward force from the presses further back on the table surface (with the way the mounts are designed). The bench is a...

Done. I was wrong. Am big enough to admit it. Because I was taken aback by the obvious differences between the 2 presses, I assumed (incorrectly) that it was sourced overseas. Again, I was wrong in that assumption. I should have checked to see where the press in question was made. That was my...

Thanks for that! I don’t have the energy to take it further. But I thought I would shame them a bit. It’s the least I can do.

    300gr SMK & VV N570

I’m looking for some load info for my newly rebarreled .338LM. I used to use Retumbo, but that’s not been available up in Canada for over 2 years In the quantity I desire (or the prices). So, I’ve chosen VV N570. I see on their site that the max charge weight for the 300gr SMK is 91.3gr. I...
