How are you throwing small charges on ATV3's? For Subsonic loads.

I use the Lee dippers to throw a small charge with my V3 unit. For example, I use 4.4gr of TiteGroup for a .38spl load for my revolvers. The Autothrow on the V3 would never throw a charge that small. So the small dipper throws approximately 3.75gr, and the Auto Trickler does the rest. It works...

    Powder scale/dispenser reccomendations

To tell the truth, I haven’t tried the V4 with ball powders. The V3 does a fantastic job with those. What I found is the V3 doesn’t do well with extruded powders. (I guess what you’re calling “chunky”.) For extruded, the V4 seems to be much better from what I’ve noticed so far. I’ve used...

What did you do in the reloading room today?

    God, I love reloading! My current inventory…… .223 rem - 190 rounds 6.5CM - 270 rounds 6.5x47L - 220 rounds .308win - 220 rounds .38spl - 400 rounds .357mag - 300 rounds .44mag - 200 rounds .45LC - 300 rounds 45-70 - 155 rounds ———————————- Total - 2255 rounds ready to shoot. The only...

    AutoTrickler V4

Their cup works great. I’ve never been a fan of the shot glass. I found powder bounced a lot with the V3. I used it once with extruded powder in the V4. Nope. I happened to have a second 419 cup, and it works very well with the V4. The rest of Area419 stuff……..

Question for the guys using SS tumbling media

That has never happened to me. Looks to be very easy to dislodge. What’s the issue?

    AutoTrickler V4

After further evaluation, it seems that when I adjusted the transition down to 1.0gr, that was the issue of why the small tube motor was acting erratically. The time segment from transition to target was too small. I moved the transition up to 1.7gr. I left the large motor speed at 5, which gave...

    AutoTrickler V4

What I have noticed is that when the trickler starts to get close to the target weight, it is inconsistent slowing down. Out of 10 throws, the speed would slow down pretty linear only on average 2 or 3 times. The rest, the speed would not slow down until .02 before the target weight. And with...

Lets see some High end reloading equipment

New stuff breeds duplication. And upgrades…. It might not be “High End” to some. That’s my caveat.

    Powder scale/dispenser reccomendations

It’s all about choices… Extruded powders with the V4 on the left. Ball powders with the V3 on the right. And the Lee Perfect for small charges that the V3 trickler finishes off. Sorry about the budget.

Cadex Defence, flaunt it if you've got it!

If your referring to the pics above, I don’t use a bag to balance shoot that monster. Usually prone and sometimes on the bench. Only a bipod and a small rear bag.

Cadex Defence, flaunt it if you've got it!

CDX30 in 6.5CM Upgraded the factory barrel to a Krieger 1:8” 28” #11 (straight contour) Since Cadex doesn’t do a folder for this chassis….enter MDT.

    AutoTrickler V4

I am finding the V4 to be much better at throwing extruded powders. I will be using the V3 for fine ball powders only.

RCBS Summit Press? Would you get one?

Yes, I agree. I re-worded a few lines above to clarify myself. I haven't had to turn the shell holder around. And I wouldn't loosen the bolts like you've done. But, if it works for you...go for it.

What did you do in the reloading room today?

Shot 400 rounds today from the levers and revolvers. Now to start the long process of bringing the four different caliber’s empties back. De-capping first… Next…into the tumbler for a couple of hours. And…onto the trays for drying.

Disappointed in Forster CO-AX paint job. *Update 11/2

That is the worst paint job I’ve seen on a Co-Ax. I would be disappointed with Forester too.

RCBS Summit Press? Would you get one?

Sorry to open up such an old thread, but I had a question for those of you who use one of these presses. Has anyone else tried the pin on the top pivot? (Above, you will see a short review I wrote on the Summit.)

RCBS Summit Press? Would you get one?

I recently bought an RCBS Summit press. This cute little thing looks impressive. But there weren’t many reviews to look at. I’ve had it about a week now and I’ve tried a few processes with it. I’ve loaded mostly precision bottle neck rifle cases, but I have also tried a few things with straight...

What is the purpose of neck tension?

It also stops the powder from spilling out.
