7PRC problem. Brand new prefit barrel, reputable smith, bolt wont close on freshly sized new brass

Well, brand new brass SAAMI cartridge headspace spec is usually less than the chamber headspace spec, so something is amiss. And yes, the die is squeezing the shoulder forward a few thou.

Friend from childhood recently passed. Left me his guns. Need some advice on one.

Blast and Parkerizing it yourself. Buy the decent mix from Brownells or Lauer.

Yeah, was trying to figure what "ring" in the chamber he was talking about.

Anschutz 1710 at a Dallas are vendor - Is this bad condition?

Can someone clarify. Is the 1710 a coned breech? That's different than the standard Annie 54 receiver. I seem to remember the Annie 54.30 having a coned breech, but I thought the extractors were at 10 & 2 O'clock vs standard 9 & 3 O'clock.

Devcon Plastic Steel 10110 changed recently?

I didn’t think the 10110 putty came in syringe or tubes. It’s way too thick to squirt out. The 10210 liquid steel is similar consistency as JB Weld.

    Any info on EXAKT primers?

Just seeing that Republic Ammunition has the small rifle primers in stock for $48/K. Just looking to see if anyone has used them before. Tried Google, sounds like they are some Eastern European mfr imported by Exakt. https://republicammunition.com/product/exakt-small-rifle-primers/

    Zediker books

I read his book on reloading for my M1A/M14 twenty-something years ago. He may be more "cautious" than necessary on certain subjects, but the info was good.

Spotting scope recommendation; Vortex or Kowa?

That is factor. I have an older TSN 663 Prominar that needed service after getting banged around one too many times. It was a couple hundred bucks to align the lenses inside. On a side note the older TSN663 bodies are available on Ebay for $3-400. I also use the LER and it makes a huge...

    Rust and BT Eliminator/Carbon Remover

Maybe something to consider: Monoethanolamine (MEA) is a viscous, organic chemical compound widely used in industrial applications for its ability to absorb acidic gases. Perhaps the fumigating gases got absorbed and held in place by the MEA?

Badger Ordinance Dead Level not level?

Who cares what item is perfectly "level"....Accept it as visually "level" and use it to maintain a repeatable shooting platform.

    M1A first glass bedding job

Devcon Plastic steel putty 10110 is easier to work with instead of JB Weld. The JB weld is more "runny" and takes more work to tape and clay dam.
