    Accurate AA2520 Unpopular?

Oh, so the general shooting population isn't buying into AA's marketing hype about the "Camp Perry Powder" for .308 Winchester M1A/M14 rifle? That's because everyone knows it's, well, marketing hype.... I think it's more popular for National Match AR15 223/5.56 with 77 and 80gr projectiles, or...

Target size width in mils chart

I remember sitting in high school algebra doing cross-multiplication and ratios, thinking "No way I'll never use this shit......." Maybe if high school geometry included milliradians I wouldn't need this tool:

    Target or Reticle Focus

Ok, if precision rifle is going that route then follow the research. F-class/XTC/Benchrest are the old fudd sports I participate most of the time and they are all sticking with front sight/reticle focus since that question comes up a lot with new shooters. I do see that action pistol such as...

    Target or Reticle Focus

When considering the “fundamentals of marksmanship”, that also includes Front Sight focus along with the others; NPA, breathing, etc. The front sight has been replaced by the reticle, but the fundamentals are still the same.

Question on powders?! Just out of curiosity….

Cowboy Action shooting uses Pyrodex for "Black powder" loads in their Colt Single Action and Winchester lever action rifles( 38spl/45LC).

    Help, my 5.56 reloads suck

Amazing how Hornady fmj and mixed brass shoot so well.

    Teslong Bore scope

Hmmm, maybe buy one that is only 6" long, enough to check the chamber and throat. That way you won't be tempted to "check out the rest of the barrel" and end up posting pictures asking if the barrel is OK..... :p

    McCoy match M1 Garand question

Does anyone have a Dun and Bradstreet login?

Well, my daughter has a friend that got scammed that way by a "company" looking to supposedly hire him........

    How much accuracy

Did this test for my progressive load to confirm. My Hornady meters plus/minus.1gr but tested at .2gr just to be safe.

    Alliant ceases production of powders

Surprised China hasn't started shipping us powder and primers.....or is that part of the Chinese ammo ban?

Ha ha, even Ca Gov Newsom has backed away from the recommendations forwarded by the Reparation Committee much to their chagrin......

    Help, my 5.56 reloads suck

Well, yeah. Sometimes it's just one barrel doesn't like them, but in your case, all the (good) barrels don't like them. No sense in trying other powders in the hope of finding a magic combo. Hornady are probably the most consistent fmj performers.

    Phase 5 EBR CMP legal?

I currently use the Phase 5 on my 308 AR Service rfle. It is allowed. https://thecmp.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/2024-Highpower-Rifle-Rules.pdf Rule 4.1 on the AR Service rifle allows it, pg 40: An extended bolt release is permitted on both right and left-handed receivers, provided there...

Question on ball powder vs cannister for your .223 hand loaders

“canister powder “ generally refers to the powder manufactured exclusively for the ammunition company for a specific purpose/cartridge. The extruded powder does have a better temperature stability than ball powder, so a max load developed in spring could still be safe in the heat of summer.

    Reticle canted?

Then again, "straight over the bore" is irrelevant. Level/plumb reticle is all you need.
