    Tuners For Large Frame Rifles

I recently bought a JP LRI in 6.5 CM. I did all the load development I could but due to the limitations of the magazine of the seating depth I had to stop at 2.814 OAL. It shot consistent .75 MOA groups but I knew it could do better. I really didn't like the 4 lb factory trigger pull so I...

    6.5 creedmoor AR Only

A couple of months ago I bought a JP LRI20 in 6.5 and did the load development for it but I wasn't happy with 3/4 MOA groups and the occasional 1/2 moa group. This being my first AR10 I knew going in that I was limited for seating depth by the magazine, so I decided to try a tuner. I bought an...

Thank you Vynz! I guess I better start saving pennies for another JP upper.

    JP LRP -07 Lower Compatibility

I'm new to the AR10 platform. I recently bought a JP LRP-07 in 6.5 CM with a LRI-20 upper. I would like to add a .308 upper and was wondering if there were any cheaper options than JP? JP wants $2,300 base price. I didn't see that you can buy just the LRI-20 upper and build it myself or I would...

    .308 Winchester

Last fall before I ran out of powder(varget) at 600 yards the 169 gr was shooting 2 MOA higher than the 168 gr. It’s finally getting light and warm enough up here in Alaska to get out and do some testing. I did find a node at .010 out(2.200) and one at 2.145(.065 out) and another at 2.120(.110 out)

    .308 Winchester

I finally found enough powder to do load development for the SMK 169 gr. The seating depth took most of the time. I started at jam and went to from there to .100. They like to jump a lot. The best groups were .065-.070 out of jam. Winchester brass CCI 200 44 gr. IMR 4064 Coal: 2.869 Ogive: 2.140...

    .308 Winchester

I don't know it this will help anyone, but I shot for dope the other day out to 800 yards but I had to stop there due to visibility. Snow! I switched over to Varget from IMR4895. It's still to cold to set up the chronograph so I don't have any velocities for you. The load was 44.3 gr. of Varget...

I don’t think Canada would let us land to refuel or I’d ask my buddy with a turbo otter to take a trip south. I was thinking more of a 40ft shipping container of primers and powder. Even Anchorage doesn’t have powder or primers.

I agree but for some reason my chronograph doesn’t like the cold. I tried it again today and it read 495 fps

Keep us posted on your adventure with the 169 gr. I'm officially done with the IMR 4895 after today. I can get MOA out to 600 and that's it. I've tried different charges and bullet seating from .015 off to .080 off. So off I go down another rabbit hole. LOL

Well I guess I'm going to have to sacrifice my last Varget to get any further with this 169 project. It really sucks they won't ship powder and primers to Alaska, as there's a whole bunch of frustrated shooters up here.

    .308 Winchester

I think this bullet has a lot of potential, but I don't have enough different powders available to me up here in Alaska to test it like I would like to. The difference between the 175 smk and the 169 at a 1,000 yards is 78 inches. So it's a much flatter shooting bullet. I guess I'm going to...

That's a good point because mine is a Sinclair as well and it is quite a bit different than my Hornaday

Nice group. What comparator are you using? Mine is stuck jammed at 2.210 and I throated mine .030. The ogive of 2.155 gives me a coal of 2.888.

Here’s my ladder test at 600 yards. IMR 4895 42.2-44.4 in 3/10 gr. Increments Ogive 2.155 Moa adjustment from 100 yd. zero +13.75 Temperature 18 f I’m open to suggestions on this one. LOL

No pressure signs and it’s just a Savage chamber that I throated .030 extra. Today I did a ladder test and the last load was 44.4 and the primer was pretty flat but no hard bolt lift. Keep in mind I’m shooting in cold weather here in Alaska. Those groups were shot at 19 degrees.
