Well it finally got above 0 up here and I was able to get out and do a seating depth test of the SMK 169. I started .015 out of jam and in .005 increments went out to .085 out of jam. I shot 3 shot groups at 300 yards. For my gun this bullet likes to jump .080 and .055 and I have to re-shoot the...- otnot

My gun is long throated also. To jam is 2.210 ogive with the 169 and a coal of 2.936. I always go by ogive since that's what contacts the lands first. But anyway, I've been experimenting with long jumps of .050 to .080 and that's why I'm at 2.869. I read a really interesting article about long...- otnot

Last week I finally got to start load development with the 169. It's really flat shooting at 600. I didn't have any dope for the first few shots and they were no where on the 36 inch paper using my dope for the 175. I had to drop my MOA down to 13.5 to get back on the paper. If you don't mind a single shot, you might want to check out an older version of the Savage LRPV. You can get a 1:7 twist 26 inch stainless barrel. HS Precision stock. Re: 700P, LTR, or 5R I bought the .308 police model last month and it came with the 40x trigger not the xmark pro. It shoots 5 shot groups the size of a dime at 100 yards. It was 7 degrees outside with a 5mph head wind. 43 grn Varget 168 SMK.- otnot
