Do my brass necks look right?

800 + grit sandpaper on really bad body galling and the Flitz. I also have the Bore Tech Copper remover.

Do my brass necks look right?

^^^^All This^^^^ . You need to polish the neck area of your die. You have brass galled in the neck area. While you're at it, polish the entire inside of the die. Then fully wash out / clean any polishing residue out of the die using a solvent. I've had this happen. Polishing took the galled...

    B14 Hunter 308 Load development

Try here : https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/308-winchester.135/page-43#post-11221923 One of my accurate loads for my 308 bolt guns is 43.5 Re-15 with the old 168 A Max. Consistently shoots well under 1 MOA. Every rifle is different. You just have to experiment. The link above is...

Primers for pistol cartridge in a rifle?

**Edit** ^^^^^above post was posted while I was typing my response^^^^ LRP's are taller than LPP's. The primer pocket in a .44 Magnum is going to be cut to the depth of the LPP. If you use LRP's in a .44 Magnum case, the primers are likely to to be proud of the pocket. I have read on other...

    Innovative Technologies Reloading Equipment

O/P, here's a couple of videos to help you out. There's also others out there. You do need to orient the collet correctly. When you slide the collet over the case, The beveled side goes up toward the case mouth and the straight side side goes toward the belt. When you size, the case gets...

Ruger M77 Mark 2 30.06 blew up in my face today - I just now see why

I know Ruger has touted themselves being the leader in the investment casting technology sector for many decades. Your loading mistake has proven their investment castings can take the pressures. Your Rifle is an older Rifle. I'd bet that 50 grains of Re-7 would have blown up other receivers...

    Innovative Technologies Reloading Equipment

90% of the sizing issues from people posting on this forum are user error issues. This forum does get it's share of Retards. I was just trying to help. Maybe your die is fucked up.

    Innovative Technologies Reloading Equipment

My L/W collet die works perfectly. There is a learning curve to using it. I remember cleaning off the factory lube and re- lubing the collet inside & out with Imperial lube. You use the Collet die after using your F/L die first. Your regular F/L die does the shoulder bumping and sizing the...

Old Pulled .30 Cal. Military Tip Experience in .308 Win???

Looks like we're on the same page. In 1994, I ordered a L/H 40 XBKS from the Remington Custom shop in 7.62 NATO. Has a 27 3/8" barrel. If I remember correctly, It cost about $1800.00. I added an Badger AI DBM mag box from George Gardner and had Terry Cross do a reinforced bolt handle on it. 👍

Old Pulled .30 Cal. Military Tip Experience in .308 Win???

That's very generous of you, I might take you up. I also own two M1-A's and three Garands. I bought my first M1-A in 1974 for $250.00. It's a 3 digit serial # Devine Texas gun. I still have it.

Old Pulled .30 Cal. Military Tip Experience in .308 Win???

They should all work fine. You will have to adjust seating depth for the 308 and any cannelures may not line up., but it really doesn't matter. I load for two AR-10 gas guns and I don't crimp. Interesting to see you have some of the original M1 ball bullets, the one with the cannelure. You...

Primer question from a reloading beginner

Those primers are from the 70's through the 1980's. I have a few of the same 215's left.

    Giraud trimmer blade position

What does your trim cut look like? Adjustments are made off of that. For me, I want a good, inside chamfer. On the outside , I only need a clean deburring of the outside cut. I make my adjustments according to that.

    Somebody up there likes me

ALWAYS good to keep a SQUIB rod in the Pistol range bag. I did what you did in a 1970's vintage Python a couple of years ago. I now keep a squib rod in the shooting bag.

    Innovative Technologies Reloading Equipment

I purchased a Collet die from them a few years ago. I know they make runs of the collet die and there's a wait for them to make another run. When I bought mine, it was in stock and I got it promptly. I did have an issue with a scope level. When I called, I spoke to Larry who took care of the...

    Giraurd trimmer question

I was able to successfully trim cases using a 308 Win. collet for 260 Rem. & 270 Win. using a 30/06 collet. I believe you would likely have to get a new collet. You could likely use a 6.5 ARC collet for the 6 ARC. Best bet is to call Doug and see.

Pulling bullets with loaded and primed rounds

The Hornady pull collets are similar (But not interchangeable) to the RCBS collets. From the various bullets I've pulled, I haven't noticed any nasty pull marks. Most of the bullets I pull are reloads with reasonable neck tension and no crimp. I did pull about 150 bullets from some WW1 M-1906...
