    Recommendations for budget rangefinder?

800 yds on steel could be a problem. I can't get the 1 mile Conx or 1 mile Midas to range past 750 on a sunny day.

Rifle Scopes Which Athlon scope for 22lr

I put an Athlon Helos BTR on my 22lr with a 20 moa base. FFP, 15y focus and enough turret to get to 350y and then another 6 mil or so on the reticle. Good glass, 56mm obj and 34x mag. About $60 less than the Midas Tac and a lot more magnification. No zero stop, but you can't get a full...

Sig BDX System Review: 2400 BDX, Part 1a

I understand, lots of information here, this is a 2400 bdx thread. I have not tried the Leica 2800.com but it sound like something in my future.

Sig BDX System Review: 2400 BDX, Part 1a

The only difference to me was the Leica does not connect to the Kestrel and the BDX does. Yes, you can range each target in the multiple target card on kestrel but there is no compass in the BDX so you will also need to capture DOF. The data is then available in the Kestrel multi target screen...

Sig BDX System Review: 2400 BDX, Part 1a

Regarding Leica 2400 v Sig 2400 BDX. I used them side by side a few days ago. Both hit 1.5 mil steel at 1380 but no further in full sun. First impression was that they had similar glass, nothing noticeable that made one better than the other while using. The big difference was the connection...

Bad Rock Precision Rifles - South Fork Barrel Type(s) and Supplier(s) Still a Mystery

I was sold based on the Defiance connection and call to order one. Had a good conversation and was told someone would call me back to confirm the order and take 50% deposit. No one ever called back. Decided to wait and see how this turns out.

Submersible with the o ring in, non-submersible with it out.

Rifle Scopes New Athlon Cronus BTR - very weak/mushy turret detent

The scope is submersible with the o ring in, not with it removed. Been told it does not affect warranty.

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

Sin Arms warning I sent a bolt in for work a month ago and have tried to contact them with no success. Looks like I should have done more research on them. FYI for you. Update on Sin Arms- they sent me a note today that they were out hunting and will have my bold done today and mailed...

Vortex Razor, Athlon Cronus or Leupold GR spotting scope?

If you are still thinking about the Cronus, take a look at the Ares. For 1/2 the price you get glass that is so good I have yet to find anyone that can see much of a difference between the Cronus and Ares view. The only big difference is the focus ring on the Ares versus the fine tune wheels...

    Kinetic Development Optics Hub

Will also hold the Athlon Cronus 20x60, but not the Ares 20x60

    5700 ballistics factor for tracking?

If you update your sportsman to the current fw 1.22 it will become a 5700 Ballistic with software improvements. You can perform the MV calculate function, but I believe the Temp Table will not be available in that configuration as it was in the Sportsman.

    Safran/ Vectronix Terrapin-X *** Update***

It seems yes, I talked to 3 Terrapin owners who were unable to connect to their Kestrel until the updated their Kestrel firmware to 1.22 and then were able to connect.

    5700 ballistics factor for tracking?

Your right, DSF is only in the Elite. Although the AB app has tracking error adjustments, the Kestrel version does not include them. The only adjustments you have control of are MV and BC. While you may have accurate data for them, if the calculated results for elevation and W hold are wrong...

    5700 ballistics factor for tracking?

Scope error is accounted for by using the Calculate MV and Calculate Drop Scale Factor. There is no input for scope tracking error by itself.
