    Adjustable gas blocks

1.) There is a huge difference between the older set-screw style adjustable gas blocks (AGBs) like JP's and the newer detent style like SLR and Superlative Arms (SA). The newer detent versions are massively more reliable and easy to use than the set screw versions. 2.) Superlative Arms and SLR...

Opinions on Criterion Hybrid Contour AR10 barrels?

Those are great barrels, one of the best before stepping up to something like a CLE or Craddock Bartlein. It will certainly achieve your goal of 1moa, and likely exceed it by a good margin. Pretty unbeatable at that price. I'd recommend nitride finish. But with confidence.

    Scar17 for medium/long range?

There is zero reason to use a Scar for your stated purposes. A quality AR10 will be better in literally every way. Get MSTN, Craddock, or CLE to build you one, or buy one from JP, KAC, Seekins or LMT and you'll have a far more accurate, lighter (if you build) lower recoil, less harsh on optics...

For a change of pace on the Hide, instead of prolonging a barrels life....

Damn fine shooting and movement. What rifle/build/load you using?

Thanks Craddock Precision and Many Fine Folks on this Forum!

Damn fine build, Craddock does impeccable work. Looking forward to hearing about your class/range results :).

    Best “nicer” 6.5 Creedmoor AR10

Best options ranked: 1.) Pay someone like MSTN or Craddock to build you one from quality parts. This way you can have the best of the best components like a Bartlein barrel, Superlative Arms AGB, Seekins Polylithic upper, JP high pressure bolt, TriggerTech Adaptable trigger and so on. No...

    SR-25 E2 CC vs. SR-25 E2 PC

    PC for accuracy for sure.

Suppressors New from dead air silencers?

Correct, you use the Omega-->Griffin adapter from Diversified Machine. I don't like Griffin's QD system, but you can do it if you want or are heavily invested, which I assume you aren't given that this is your first suppressor. I don't think there is a better suppressor to buy right now for a...

    Powder for 16” 308

Do you have velocities on those loads by any chance?

Suppressors Thunder Beast Ultra Series Discreet Ballistic 190 Subs and Hornady 178 Match Sound test

Those Ultra 9 results at the ear really show what an extra 2" can do ;).

    AR10 or M1A ?

AR10 is better in literally every way. Outside of cloning or fun historical stuff I'm not sure why you'd want an M1a.

Craddock Precision .224V Upper Barrel Question

The Craddock is probably the best turn key option for the money. I'd just get him to add an adjustable gas block.

Suggestions for SBR barrlel length and why?

Always 11.5in 5.56 for anything serious. Best blend of ballistics, dwell time, and pressure. Faxon makes a terrific 11.5in.

looking for advice on good 16" 223 Wylie non govt barrel

For home defense you should consider a pistol/SBR build with an 11.5in barrel and a suppressor. Faxon makes a great 11.5in. For a standard 16in barrel though, you cannot beat the Criterion Hybrid that the Army and Marine Marksmanship teams use for the money.

    Suppressors 18 inch barrel

Yes there are a few special bullets that do terminally perform from the .300blk subsonic, like Lehighs. But again, ask yourself why you are using a rifle platform with the same energy and wounding capability of a 5in 1911 in .45ACP? You can have 3-4x the KE (and even greater wounding) on...

Suppressors New from dead air silencers?

The Nomad is compatible with everything the Omega is, so it is plenty versatile. Keymo, ASR, Q Plan B, Griffin, YHM, Area 419, and TI direct thread to name just some. The Nomad has a large advantage over YHM in weight, and over the Vox in volume and sound reduction (at least according to Dead...

    Suppressors 18 inch barrel

1.) Subs from .300blk or 5.56 should never be used for home defense, they do not terminally perform well and have as much energy as .45acp from a 5in barrel. You are better off using a pistol or PPC at that point. If you want to step up to .458 Socom or similar sure, then subs have enough...

Suppressors Q Half Nelson Vs. Full Nelson?

Second the Nomad, tons of mount options too since it is compatible with all QD systems that can fit the Omega. If this is basically only for bolt guns though (like you mention in the OP) I'd go TBAC Ultra 9.

Suppressors No love for the Griffin armament sportsman ultra light ?

George from Alaska did you not read the "at the ear on semi-autos" part? From your own beloved silencershop: Recce 5 is 144.1db to the shooter. That is extremely loud on an AR. For comparison here is the older Gemtech Trek: This can is 141.82db to the shooters ear, considerably quieter...

Suppressors No love for the Griffin armament sportsman ultra light ?

The thing about Griffin cans from a performance perspective is that they are all high to very high back pressure designs. The Recce 5 is actually one of the loudest cans on the market at the shooters ear. On a bolt gun, you don't care. But for anyone running one can between bolt guns and...
