    Yes, you can’t the way the mount is designed. I pulled the mount off and have been using the thermal as a handheld and put my nightvision back on the rifle. Much easier than swinging the rifle around constantly scanning.

    I’ve been happy with my 16” 243 suppressed. Shot a coyote with it 2 nights ago at 250 yards using 58gr v max at 3500 fps. I mainly run 87gr bthp at 3050 it does well out 600 yards.     16” ultralight SAUM caliber choice?

    I’d go 300 wsm or 7Saum, ADG brass for both 7 SAUM will do ~ 2700 with 180s 300wsm will do ~ 2750 with 200gr hybrids or 205gr EH’s with rl17. My 16” 30/06 does 2580fps with 215gr bergers & RL17. H4350 will be around 100 fps slower. Rl26 is another good option that almost gets rl17 speeds.

    8.6 Creedmoor - Any updates?

    Super sonic, 375 or 45 Raptor for serious killing power. I think the 8.6 Creed or 338 fed is a good compromise of high BC bullets that will increase your effective range. 230 eld x’s would be pretty effective out of a 12” barrel to 400 yards. At 2350MV 400 yards they will be at 1800fps, 1750lbs...
