What is your preferred scope level?

Check out the SendIt!! electronic level. Available at Brownells for about $230. Buy once; cry once; happy ever more. Go cheap and get what one pays for........deck building carpenter technology....get a line bubble level for under $5 at Lowes....remnant duct tape roll from your pickem'up...

What is your preferred scope level?

Au contrierre, diverdon. You need to do research on the effect of cant on point of impact shift. If one is shooting much beyond 100yds, cant is probably the number one factor in point of impact shift from point of aim. Varies on each shot making evaluation of accuracy nd related factors...

Rifle Scopes Something New From Vortex

From Eurooptic website as announced recently. $700 MSRP. Impressive specs for that price. However, there are no free lunches. Glass must be recycled Coke bottle bottoms...... The Venom 5-25x56mm Riflescope by Vortex was designed for beginners in the long-range precision shooting field, but...

Killed my harris bipod. Send it for repair or.......

If you must, as suggested below, call Harris. But, unless it has sentimental value, can't imagine that $hit canning and buying a new one will hardly dent anyone's budget........ Money is replenishable.......your heartbeats......not.

    Vault Door/ Safe room experiences?

Makes a difference what one is protecting. Multiple personal experiences with selling a home with vault....and also huge garages./shops/tornado safe rooms.......they may not always return all the investment....although many times they are a great ROI (cheaper to build in new construction than...

    Vault Door/ Safe room experiences?

You probably have noticed that vault doors only are disproportionately expensive. But, worth every penny....for your illusionary piece of mind. Just recently saw a well known name in safes advertising new entry into vault doors. Sorry, can't find the ad I saved this minute. I have gone with...

Mossberg or Savage for 224 Valkyrie?

Preface to my thoughts, I have numerous Savages, mostly for grandkids/new shooter friends. Many Mossys all in the shotty arena. Strikes me a little like throwing good money after bad. IMHO, you won't ever recover the smithing expenses on a Mossy or Savage base. Individuals buying those are...

What is practical advantage of sighting at 200 m?

Brian Litz at Applied Ballistics strongly advises to always zero at 100. Easier to find 100yd range to confirm zero after traveling. Less atmospheric interaction in zeroing at 100yd vs 200yd....every little bit impacts consistency. Cant is a very big impact on POI consistency. Be sure you use...

Are heavier rifles more accurate solely due to their weight?

Add position building and recoil management to your list.......and maybe the day of the week.....:0 :) :)

What are you actually getting with a Tac A1?

In US market, the difference is available for under $500. On Eurooptic.com for reference, the Tikka varmit is $930; the t3x tac a1 runs $1800-2000 depending on caliber and color. Bought my tac a1 6.5CM for shade under $1400 delivered. Added features are greatly increased stock adjustability...

Bubble level in front of turret?

Texasflyer, you are correct in that the bubble promotes consistency........CONSISTENCY IS KING!!! Someone who trash talks levels doesn't appreciate the details in shooting. Yeah, they may get hits, but not consistently. They're the ones that can shoot the left eye out of a darting gnat at a...

    Buying Accuracy Int. Rifle

Buy once; cry once; happy ever after. Seldom does one regret buying excellent gear. However, the sweetness of cheaper options typically soon sour with poor performance, shorter life cycle. Often the lesser cost option ends up costing way more as one becomes disappointed and buys the higher...

.308 win barrel length 20" or 24" for 830 yards

Barrel profiles being equal, many shooters will choose the longer barrel for the extra velocity. However, very competent shooters.....such as Todd Hodnett of Accuracy First and military trainer fame......often select the shorter barrel. Longer barrel has more harmonics flex and associated...

    Best Chronograph out there?

Sound containment, but mainly to protect accidental discharges and poor barrel control bullets from exiting the range. Can't fire without hitting the berm behind targets or the baffles overhead.....no open area to permit a round from going over the berm.
