No. A5 extension requires an AR15 buffer when using it on a large frame AR10 … If he was using a standard extension then yes … a short AR10 buffer would be required … but he is using an A5 … thus … he needs a standard AR15 buffer in the H2/H3 weight … preferable H3.- thehun

On an AR15 not AR10 … you need to use a regular AR15 buffer when using an A5 extension with an AR10 platform. I run the same can ... nice choice ... you shouldn't need super heavy buffers/stiff springs ... but I would say you do need a matched buffer kit to set your baseline vs the mismatch stuff you got going on. If you do run your gas block in bypass mode ... you will lose some velocity ... I ditched...- thehun

The best buffer setup is a .308 rifle length buffer kit from Aero for a fixed stock setup or LMT MWS buffer kit for collapsible stock setup... Bushnell LRTS/DMR lines are solid as they come ... I actually prefer a Bushnell DMR2/3 over my S&B US 3-20 ... One time I got a new LMT and the barrel in it looked like it was shot 30K rounds without firing ... literally ... no amount of cleaning got the stuff out but somehow it managed to pass their awesome QC ... they took a look at it and said yeah ... somehow you got a shot out barrel in your new gun...- thehun
