    Lightweight, packable rain suit

I’ve been very happy with my Kuiu Chugach rain gear. Expensive, but has been worth every penny when I needed it. Has held up well over the past 7 years of intermittent use. You can watch their outlet web site for occasional deals.

Spotters Spotting Scope With MRAD Reticle

Running the Athlon Ares gen 2 with the 22x mil reticle, and works pretty well on steel out to 600 or so spotting 6.5 hits. Only good to 400 for 5.56.

Night Vision NV and thermal kills...

Another good weekend, 16 total for the trip. Not a lot of sleeping… 6 coolers full of meat, though.

    Texas silencer company

Have one of their 22 cans. It’s just ok. Definitely louder than other 22 cans I’ve shot it next to.

Night Vision Helmet mounted: straight thermal, mix NV/thermal, or clip on?

Cedar makes it tough. I live in the hill country. Thermal will work much better in that environment, but will still have issues. Considered an Autel thermal drone? Might be best option for that terrain and that size area. Find and fix with thermal drone, move in from downwind with NVGs and F...

Night Vision NV and thermal kills...

From a few weeks ago. Ended up with 10 pigs, 2 raccoons, and a coyote.

Night Vision Helmet mounted: straight thermal, mix NV/thermal, or clip on?

What’s the primary use and general terrain you’ll be in? I say that because it can make a big difference in what will work best. My primary use is hunting pigs/coyotes in fairly open terrain in West Texas. Most of the time we are driving in a truck with a windshield. Stop, roll down window to...

    Badass DIY barrel cooler(s)

Did the harbor freight version this weekend and worked great!

    Rifle Packs for All-Day Hunting?

Another fan of Kifaru. I use the 22 mag on the tactical frame with a gun grabber.

    Fieldcraft Team Comms

I’d recommend getting your GMRS license. $75 for 10 years, no test required. Opens up much better radio and antenna options. I’ll second what was said above about VOX, just doesn’t work reliably. PTT is the way to go. Baofeng has worked fine for us, through the BTECH website. Peltor has been...

    AR 308 & 6.5CM barrel length / velocities

My 16” 6.5 CM (Faxon Gunner barrel) averages 2510fps with factory 143 ELD-X. Perfect setup for me shooting pigs out to 400.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Holster for glock 17 with rmr and suppressor

Have run the SureFire holster for a few years. Glock21 with RMR and osprey45. It’s my suppressed finishing pistols when hunting pigs at night. If driving on a 4wheeler all night it works great. Same thing when dismounted. However, it is a royal PITA when using a regular vehicle, side by side...

    Pistol on Kifaru Hunting Pack

I use a 22mag on the tactical frame. I used a cheap Kydex holster and zip tied onto the waist belt. Have a medium hip pouch over it. Works great for the G19 with light and optic on it. I can take a picture of it later if interested.

    Day Pack Recommendations?

    Kifaru 22 mag.

    Hot weather pants?

Another vote for Prana Zion Comfort stretch. All I wear anymore unless going full camo Kuiu for hunting (attack pant).

Faxon Barrel for a lightweight 6.5 creedmoor build or something else?

I built with a 16” Faxon lightweight barrel in 6.5 CM trying to get a rifle under 7 pounds as well. I’ve been happy with it. Consistent under 1 MOA, which is good enough for my purposes.
