The 24x glass goes to shit anything over probably 15x... But you dont need that much mag for 300 yards. AND EVEN...

    At 2-300 you can get away with a #4reticle and no turrets, or even a red dot. Heck open sights, but the 4-16 will be a good scope to get your feet wet into or shooting and the systems involved.

    I have a pst 6-24. It has had Weaver tactical rings on it forever and gets swapped between multiple rifles 300win, 270,AR etc. No issues with that so far. any decent mount should suffice.

    I chose my node by fps dispersion. So from 24-24.9 the fps rose steadily from high 2600-2700. From 24.9-25.3-ish the fps settled around 2800-2850 fps. 25.4 jumped up around 2900 fps 25.6 was around 3k fps.

Found about 24.9 -25.4 node then worked .1 gn increments between them and found best around 25.2 2 shots within 10es, 3rd shot 16 es, 4th shot 100es, 5th shot delayed powder ignition 250 fps slower.     Load Development with a Cheap Chronograph

    I have the same Chrono and I get first round hits at my 8" 500 yard Target using my Chrono speed. Use it and enjoy it. If you find your missing at 500 true your MV in your calculator.. your Chrono will get you close. Shoot and learn shoot and learn. That's the best part.

    Vortex Razor HD 27-60x85 vs Leupold SX-1 Ventana 20-60x80

    I have the Leupold kenai sx-2 and I feel my pst 6-24 is equivelant or better. The only decent thing about the sx2 is the fixed eyepiece. That part is nice. But resolution past 600 yards is lacking and the focus wheel sucks. I'm curious how much better a razor is as well.
