    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

I installed the Timney trigger in my RPR 300 PRC this afternoon. It feels 1000% better than the stock RPR trigger. I'm used to the Savage target action trigger at about 1 lb and the stock RPR trigger felt more like 5 lbs and vague on the 'break' (even with the RPR trigger adjusted to min pull).

If you were only going to have one caliber?

260 Rem. Why? Because I have 300 Lapua brass in the current rotation and another 300 new unopened Lapua brass. And 2000+ 6.5 mm ELDM bullets.

    300 PRC Brass Inquiry

3 weeks ago I was able to buy Hornaday 300PRC brass from both MidwayUSA and Powder Valley. I see it's out of stock at both places now, but it can be backordered at Midway and Midsouth. For me the brass was easy. However I was not able to find the 225gr ELDMs I wanted so I got 500 A-Tip 230s...

    300 PRC Brass Inquiry

Not answering your question, but I (impulse) bought a Ruger 300 PRC about a month ago. I have had no trouble finding/buying Hornady 300PRC brass. It's not Lapua/ADG/Norma brass, but so far it has shot 1/2 MOA no problem. If I can get at least around 5 reloads from them then I will be extremely...

For best accuracy do you really need a muzzle brake?

A brake can help you stay on target more consistently and this can allow you to call your own shots. Which can be a huge advantage when you don't have a dedicated spotter.

Scope caps - Why flip up rather than to right?

I only use a front cap so there's no problem with rear cap blocking view of windage turret. I guess that's a whole other discussion.....
