    Barnes 145 gr Match Burner

I gave up on them. They showed some promise, but in the end I never could get consistently good groups out of them. They kinda behaved like the RDFs for me. John

Mighty Armory Full length sizing die

I just ordered a Mighty Armory 6.5 Creedmoor sizing die. They now make a “-.005 HS” die which after talking to Wayne, seems to be their normal Gold Match die that has .005” taken off the bottom to allow you bump the shoulder more than the standard Gold Match die. While I am not dissatisfied...

    6.5 Creedmoor

In my CMs 41gr R16 seems to work well with any decent 140gr bullet In any decent rifle. Also, though the BC is unimpressive, I’ve not found a CM that won’t shoot the Hornady 140gr BTHP. Here’s 41gr R16 behind the 140gr Hornady BTHP. John

Who’s your preferred custom rifle builder?

As long as Jon Beanland is making rifles, he will make MY rifles. John

Rifle Scopes SWFA 3x9x42 HD who likes it.

I prefer the mil quad reticle, but for hunting, the plain mil dot isn’t bad. There were some mismatched MOA/MIL out there years ago. I’d absolutely steer clear of those. John

Rifle Scopes SWFA 3x9x42 HD who likes it.

Great scope. Retains zero, tracks well and returns to zero as it should. Pretty good glass. Great hunting scope. Do wish it came with a zero stop, but this is easily overcome. John

    Aim small, miss small

I kinda like the saying. I always interpreted it to mean the smaller your POA, the closer to the center of it you will hit. John

    Another tripod option

Wish I could help, but have not researched whether the Anvil 30 will work or could be made to work, so have no idea. John

Dream: Shooting out your back porch/window/walk out basement?

I have to take the side by side to the pasture on the other side of the county road, but it’s only a 5 minute trip. I can shoot out to 900 there and am very blessed to have it. John

    Another tripod option

So had an opportunity to shoot off my tripod today. From standing position with nearly fully extended legs, I had no trouble hitting 8” plates at 200, 300, and 400 yards, 12” plate at 600 and about IPSC sized at 700, which is as far as I was shooting today. Wind was quartering at 14mph. I’m...

    Would you shoot this match?

In addition to the restrictions you listed, I’d say implement an even more stringent weight limit, maybe 15 pounds. The idea behind weight seems to be to make it easier to spot your shots. Even a 20 pound 6mm helps in that regard even without a muzzle device. I know folks might only own one...

    Another tripod option

Haven’t compared them side by side to know how the packed dimensions compare, nor the sturdiness. Can only say that having had both rifles and optics on them, I have been impressed by the sturdiness considering the size and weight. John

Let’s talk LPVO and SFP vs. FFP...

Very similar to the SWFA 1-6HD. Very usable FFP reticle. John
