Unertl vs. Leatherwood 1903 Scope Help

You'd have been better off shopping around for a Marine Corps 1903a1 mock up... They were equipped with Unertl 8x scopes I believe.

    Vintage firearm prices

Fair enough... But of all the firearms I've ever seen with a dedicated fanbase, it's the one I'll never understand the near violent defense it often gets.

    Vintage firearm prices

The pistols never really appealed to me, onlynthe rifles... So I guess I'm lucky in that regard.

    Vintage firearm prices

I'm not a collector in the 'gambling on future value' sense... I buy them because I like them and want to shoot them. But due to prices, I've personally gotten to the point that I'm holding out for a mint Lee Enfield No4 MK2 or a nice K98. Because I just want them to shoot, I'd even take a...

    Vintage firearm prices

I'm jealous... I've been looking for a mummy wrapped Mk2. I won't even lie, it's with the intention of unwrapping and shooting it! Mosin's I understand the least. They're ugly and with the exception of Finnish Mosin's are generally not great shooters. I still regularly think to myself I should...

    Vintage firearm prices

I've noticed the crazy prices on milsurps lately myself... For whatever reason there's is a noticeable uptick in the prices being asked for milsurp rifles lately. If you've got a mint WWII-era K98K or Lee Enfield I get it, but people are out there asking $800 for bubba'd and butchered Mausers...

    Yugo M48 and Timney Triggers

So waiting at home I have a Yugo M48 with an absolutely horrendous trigger. I have a Timney Sportsman trigger for it but after some examination I'm a bit hesitant to install it when I look at how much wood I'm going to have to remove from the stock. I don't want to change the cosmetic look of...

    1903a4?

It really has nothing to do with the Criterion barrels. Don't get me wrong they're great barrels but my a4 has an original 2 groove barrel and I still get around 1 MOA consistently. The rifles that are dominating are the USMC M1903a1 rifles, and mostly due to the 8x scope it's topped with. At...

    1903a4?

Don't convert an existing a3 unless it's been sportarized already... Go over the the CMP forum and check out the classifieds. 1903a4 clones and occasionally real ones show up for decent prices. Alternately you can track down a (preferably sportarized) a3 and contact chuckindenver over there and...

    Replica Scope

I have a M82 repro. I'd go with that one from personal experience...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Any input on red dot pistols

Yep... Between the two RMR's, I had the dot go out and zero drift. But the most common fault was the dot jumping all over the place with every shot. When this happened my 7meter target would literally look like a shotgun pattern.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Any input on red dot pistols

I ran an RMR on a Glock19 for a couple years before going back to plain Trijicon night sights. During that time I sent my 2 RMR's back to Trijicon 5 times between them before I finally gave up. I still believe in the concept, but I don't think that RMR's are robust enough yet to handle the...

    1903A3 Build

I have a completely original Remington 1903a3. I think you are greatly overestimating what needs to be done to make them 'shooters'.

Accuracy Limit of the 7.62X39 Cartridge

Nothing specific I can remember off the top of my head. I just know several people, including Rifle Dynamics, have done so. I think MAC may have even done a video on one effort. The problem isn't that it can't be done, the problem is that when Bubba wants a $500 bullet bullet hose it isn't cost...

    Lee-Enfield No.4 Sniper Build...

That is a beautiful build... How'd it shoot?

    Lee-Enfield No.4 Sniper Build...

So I recently got my faux 1903a4 and it has been a blast to shoot. However between that rifle and my original Lee-Enfield No.4 I'm starting to want to get a faux Lee-Enfield No.4 sniper built. I was just curious if anyone has seen these rifles pop up in vintage matches and how common they are...

Accuracy Limit of the 7.62X39 Cartridge

    Already been done...

So has anyone bought the new Remington 700 Magpul rifle?

Of course there are, but for the price the Magpul stock isn't a bad option.

    Interesting issue...

So I recently bought a 1903a4-gery built off a reclaimed drill receiver and found that the rear bolt tap wasn't done quite right. I took it to my gunsmith to have it redone proper and the receiver chipped away the tap. He'd had the tap for awhile and figured it was just at the end of it's life...

    MDT Polymer Magazines

So I tried to file some of the material down to get the magazine to fit. Unfortunately it's a no go.... Sad too as these magazines are really well made and I'd recommend them for anyone that has an MDT chassis, for which these were designed. Anyway I contacted MDT and they're going to give me a...
