Bergara Premier HMR Pro Rifle
That’s my issue, is I think I like the ruger better (everything but the stock), versus the fancier bergara with a thinner barrel. The lrp is $200 more than the ruger, which includes a nice stock, but I like that the ruger is 5 lbs heavier for the 300 prc. I had an mrad before, so the clunky bolt...- Fenix Mike

Well hot damn… bergaras website doesn’t list the premier setups in barreled actions, but sure enough, brownells lists it. Honestly though, at $1100 for the barreled action and no trigger, it’s still a better deal to just buy the pro rifle, which includes the trigger tech trigger, black barrel...- Fenix Mike

Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion
Im in the same boat. Reviews online and youtube are stellar with most stating 1/2 MOA all day long, and stupid accurate past 1,000. Hornady ammo is relatively inexpensive considering other magnum calibers in that range are significantly more for match ammo, but im torn between that and the bergara.- Fenix Mike

Bergara Premier HMR Pro Rifle
Im looking at the same rifle, and having a tough time between the LPR Bergara and the Ruger RPR. I want the Ruger for the weight, but the Bergara for the fit and finish. Im just waiting to see if anything will be released after SHOT, but these two seem to be my favorites for a heavier barrel 300...- Fenix Mike

6.5PRC vs 300PRC deciding factors??
Reviving this thread... those who went 300 PRC, are you happy with your choice? 6.5 PRC ? I have a similar debacle in that I only shoot steel and paper, but I do like my 1,000-1 mile game. What my goal is for now is something with factory ammo at a decent price, and both are "pretty good"...- Fenix Mike

I had a first Gen rpr in 308 back in the day, the only thing I disliked was the cheaper feeling stock setup, but I’d imagine there have been improvements in almost 10 years they have been out… either way a nice prs stock would also fix that :)- Fenix Mike

Buds has them for $1675 shipped, and I found the timney trigger for $239, so I figure that’s a pretty solid setup. Otherwise I can get the bergara lpr for about the same price (they are on close out). Ruger said the barrel is .875 at the muzzle, which makes me happy!- Fenix Mike

That seems to be the consensus among owners... some say its a bit clunky, but after having multiple MRADs, im used to that and it doesnt bother me because they were built like tanks and ate everything I put through them. I like the idea of being able to drop a precision heavy barrel into it...- Fenix Mike

Doing some more research on these, Im actually considering the Ruger RPR... I like the heavier barrel and overall weight, with the only real complaints being the occasional bolt snag. Reviews seem epic, as does the accuracy. I understand ruger fanboys will be ruger fan boys, so far EVERY thread...- Fenix Mike

I generally go to Shot every year, but had to work this time around, so maybe I will just be patient and see if anything new comes out. I had good luck in the past with an MRAD and axmc, but I don’t shoot 3 times a week anymore or hand load, so I’d hate to drop $4,000+ only to use factory ammo...- Fenix Mike

That seems to really be the only option to get a heavier barrel, they have the m24 profile. Barrett has the fixed stock/non quick change barrel mrad for just over 4k, but doesn’t seem like a ton of options outside of that, an AX, or the sub $2,000 guns. I may just wait to see who picks up 7mm...- Fenix Mike

I found henry Big Boys in stock!

Daniel Defense DD5v3, DD5v4 and DD5v5
I put a magpul moe grip on it and stored the Allen wrench in there. I was debating making something permanent where I could just adjust it with my fingers, but I only shoot suppressed anyway, and just leave it in suppressed mode.- Fenix Mike
