Is an 8-inch 308 or 12-inch 6.5Cr build possible? Accurate out to 500 yards?
Suppressed with full power 308 rounds... not so quiet... subsonic is quiet, but not as quiet at 300 BO.Your drop at 500-600 with subsonic 308 is going to be substantial. Do your calculations... just a SWAG but I bet it will be over 100" at 500 yards.- Dan M

Swedish Mauser Stock Wood Question...
Elm stocks were used by the Swedes for three years... 1915-1917. Buy which ever rifle is in the best material condition. I personally like walnut M96s.- Dan M

There should be two bore diameter numbers in that sector of the disk...starting with 6,51 and 6,46...I am assuming that it is 6.59. Should still shoot well, especially with M41 ball. I have also handloaded with Hornady 160gr RN and they shot really well, approximating M94 ball. The Crown Cb...- Dan M

Take good photos and be accurate in your description. As originally built, a M1896 had a barleycorn front sight and a v notch rear...in the 1940s they were retrofitted with rectangular front sight posts and the V notch filed into a U profile. MRT SLING QUESTION
I am assuming you are speaking about the leather Model 1907 sling...MRT refers to mildew resistant treatment and was applied to leather and canvas web slings. I use Turner Saddlery Military Leather Dressing or Skidmore’s Leather Cream on my Turner and Les Tam slings.- Dan M
