Sidearms & Scatterguns Mle. 1935A. Anyone have one?

Not rare but most people pass them by because ammunition is unobtanium... not a tremendous demand for a pistol you can’t shoot. Buffalo Arms did a run a while back and it was $1.05 a round but it has been showing out of stock forever. You can always handload, but why? Doesn’t offer anything that...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Holster recomendations for S&W Shield

Been carrying the Shield 40 as an off duty long as they have been out...in a DeSantis Cozy Partner. Hides the pistol quite well and is comfortable.

    Earpro for scoped rifles?

I run TCI DEHP or Peltor ComTacs/w gel cups and foam plugs or surefire plugs... for anyone balking about the price of quality electronic ear pro, try pricing out hearing aids. I have a hearing deficit in the high range in my right ear from a lifetime of shooting and want to preserve my remaining...

Sidearms & Scatterguns OWB Holster for Concealed Carry?

Have been using Raven Concealment’s Phantom and Perun OWB for G19 and 19X for work .They tuck the pistol close to the body and as long as you have dressed around it correctly, they hide the pistols extremely well. I prefer Kydex for OWB. The off duty/back up Shield is in a DeSantis Cozy Partner...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Any Old S & W Experts on the Hide?

You did well. Sometimes a package deal is better than buying individually...earlier in my career I bought some guns from a co-worker...a Colt Series 80 Enhanced SS .38 Super, a Hi Power (assembled in Portugal with 6 mags) and a 3” S&W Model 13 for $750 total... all the guns were like new.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Any Old S & W Experts on the Hide?

If I had to bet the ranch, my bet is replacement barrel. Hope it shoots well for you. Standard velocity .38 SPL is a lot of fun to shoot.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Any Old S & W Experts on the Hide?

The change from a 1/10" wide "half round" front sight blade to a 1/8" wide ramp style front sight blade was initiated around 1962, if memory serves me. I need to look up the date to make sure I am giving you some solid info. I need to dig out my copy of the Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Any Old S & W Experts on the Hide?

A 1920s K frame wouldn’t have a serrated ramp front sight...service sights consist of a half round blade front with rear notch on top strap...if the reported s/n is in the correct range it probably isn’t the original barrel.

Looking for WW2 appraiser in Central TX

You are welcome. It is more than likely your typical refurbished 91-30. It may have an importer supplied Serial Number because only roman letters and Arabic numerals can be used for a S/N (no Cyrillic). I have no doubt that it is a real 91-30 pulled from storage and sold when the Soviet Union...

Looking for WW2 appraiser in Central TX

Imported firearms marking wasn't required until the GCA of 1968. If the import stamp was done with a dot matrix method, it is a fairly recent import and not from the 1950s.

CMP M40 Rifle New in wrap

The S/N is 6257231 in the photo... there is a missing digit in the description. The 9/96 date is probably the repack date.

    Brown bess

Agree that it a repro. Is the lock marked GRICE 1762 (or STOWE 1776)? If yes, it is a Pedersoli. If TOWER marked and marked Made in Japan on the barrel, it is a Miroku... I have one and it is a great musket. Could also be a Rifle Shoppe or Track of the Wolf repro...good stuff Remote...

    8mm Mauser ammunition, please identify.....

As others have said, 1950s vintage Yugo M49 7.92mm Heavy Ball ammunition. Brass cased, berdan corrosive primers. Some hang fires and some will require a second firing pin strike to fire. I still have several cases left from when they were giving this stuff away years ago... shoots decently out...

    Gewehr 98 action

The straight bolt handle mostly. Since it isn’t in it’s original configuration it is extremely difficult to determine how many times it was rebuilt (the Germans stamped a number in the center of the buttplate, identifying the rebuild facility during the Great War and stamped the receiver in...

    Gewehr 98 action

Not to nit pick, but that is a Gewehr 98 receiver, DWM 1916. Is that the original bolt?

What do I have here? Warning to Collectors

You are missing the part about the 26 USC 5861 (g) and 18 USC 922(k) violation. ETA- This turd of a rifle has been floating around for years after a cursory search of Culver’s Shooting Page and the CMP Forum... the seller knows it is fake and it keeps coming back. He knowingly sold a rifle with...

What do I have here? Warning to Collectors

Besides contacting the seller there isn’t much else one can do on this...the seller knows this is a turd and discribed the rifle in nebulous terms. One must do their homework and conduct due dilligence research before parting with cash. Someone is about to be burned on this one...and will...
