    I use a radius also. I haven't had much issue with it. I usually give it a gentle "smack" after I take the rifle out of the bag and it seems to go back to zero all the time. It's pretty easy to sweep the top of a 400yd pole to double check it. Pretty much anything that's skylined will work...

    Which scope has brightest reticle?

    I'd look for a scope with a LARGE piece of the reticle illuminated. I have a 1-10 Geniii Razor that has very bold circle with a dot inside it illuminated. That thing will burn your retinas on max.

    Did the OP ever confirm if this was a new purchase? If it was new, it definitely sucks balls and Leupold should have done better. If it was 2yrs old and purchased second hand, I'd be pretty happy.

    You'll loose a lot of FOV with a low end of 5x, but it should work fine. I'd bet the LR is capable of 400+ also.

    I dropped a coyote the first night out at 508yds with the ELR. Absolutely no problem. I took a poke at one at 700+ also. I missed, but I didn't feel like the scope was holding me back at all. It was just a bad shot on my part.

    Last time I was at the range it had been overcast with intermittent misting rain and a steady temp of 50* for the previous 24hrs. I was barely able to make out a few pcs of steel @400yds.

    They are posted over on Wig's Night Ops thread. It wasn't a very good night for thermals and I'm a shitty photographer so they aren't "breathtaking". They are back to back to back in a short period of time so they are a fair comparison though.
