It scares me that someone will eventually install this so badly, it will come with a warning about electrocution and bowel movements.

    PRS Talk Rifle weight ?

Yeah, understood. I just sent one of my chassis to a guy and he has a vudoo kukri(?) Profile and is only a 20" barrel. Part of the reason why i designed to have internal, but optional external too. The ext weights i do are stackable, giving more flexability on position, and i do find quite a...

    PRS Talk Rifle weight ?

That "da'shaft" thing is weird. Not bad, but takes up forward realestate. I make a chassis which is 3.5kg - 5kg before you put external weights on it. (7.5 - 11lbs). Has a internal weight system on it. I dont get it, but people asked for it, so i did it. Not a huge fan of overly heavy...

    ARCA weight box source?

Steel block will be cheaper and weight the same, within reason. Brass will weigh more per volume size, but cost a bit more. Last option is a thin steel box and melt lead into it, or pour shotgun pellets in and seal it. I know one guy who did this method.

The "a chassis should not need to be bedded" myth........

Fully agree with you, everything matters. Tiny variations change results, which echos my original assumption/point of composite stocks and alu stocks achieve the same torque rating, but at different points of angular rotation. If i get a chance, ill try to grab a spare bit of billet and video...

The "a chassis should not need to be bedded" myth........

Glad someone brought up pillars. The "squish" I commented on is not an actual rubbery take-up feeling, its the receiver and interface (bedding, chassis, whatever) finding its natural point of rest. As you tighten things down, they do have a very small settling in period. I agree with you that...

The "a chassis should not need to be bedded" myth........

Target demographic. Basically a business decision. Many people want a true drop in solution, and dont want too many options to confuse them. Most (60%+) of customer base want a drop in, no fuss, "go and shoot" solution. 30% want want options, and are happy to tweak as require to get what...

The "a chassis should not need to be bedded" myth........

They are ready for competition out of the box. Are you ? Perhaps tell Satterlee he needs to bed his rifle to win.

The "a chassis should not need to be bedded" myth........

Chassis can benefit from bedding. This isnt some weird space magic. The action inlet on many chassis is "generic" and not specifically cut for brand X, the way foundation or others are. Chassis have minimum compression on torque of action, composite stocks do have a tiny bit of compression...

    PRS Talk Ideal PRS Scope

10-30x56 would work. 10mil turrets i like, but not convinced on 16" long so its parallax is easier. Locking turret ? Edit.. what sort of reticle ?
