    Bullets may be slightly undersize. I had this issue with some bullets that I bought of Gunbroker to reload. Shot ok from an aftermarket barrel with conventional rifling, but not from the stock barrel. Then later figured out the were slightly undersize.

    I also use the Loctite copper based as posted above. I reality, their nickel based product is better if you are worried about possible corrosion between dis-similar metals, but harder to find and more expensive.

    M1A guys, help me out.

    "Left" hole is 12-32 UNEF, so unlikely to fine a set screw in hardware store to plug it. You could have a light coat of oil in the hole, then put some RTV silicone or something similar to fill it to keep any dirt out. Would create an easy plug to remove later on.

    Spuhr or other options?

    I like Spuhr. I would conside one of their newer/cheaper "hunting?" mounts if you don't need to add a bunch of rails or a red dot. For .308 it should not matter, but I did have issue with an ADM mount letting the scope slip under recoil when shooting a mag cartridge.
