Poll : Rimfire NRL / PRS Scopes. $1-2K

I like the Cronus, have three, love the reticles, but now I'd get the Burris XTRIII. Better FOV, glass is good, price is probably the best for what you get in a nice scope.

    Thoughts on this please

If only going to 1K my .223 does that just fine. Wind is a bitch though. I remember when one of our club members started shooting matches with the club. Showed up with a 338 Lapua, spent lots on ammo, got abused by the recoil and didn't shoot very well with it. Years later he's one of the...

.223 rem vs 6.5 cr for first mid range rifle

The velocity in my rifle is 2900, but I also have a 30 inch F class barrel.

.223 rem vs 6.5 cr for first mid range rifle

Black hills 77 SMK, out of a savage :) One of my last races at Sears Point. Hadn't raced in two years, only got a third place. :)

.223 rem vs 6.5 cr for first mid range rifle

I'll bet those Fudd matches with vudoos are getting beaten by guys with 10/22's too. No one said a .223 is a benchrest caliber, most of all have said it was cheaper, fun, and easy to shoot. Do you really expect a "beginner" to win anything? When I was roadracing motorcycles I seldom had the...

Looking for a better hunting scope for my rifle

This is what I'd get, https://www.eurooptic.com/Burris-Xtreme-Tactical-XTR-III-33-18x50mm-Non-Illum-SCR-MOA-XT-100-MAD-Windage-M.aspx Yea it might be heavy but if you're not hiking with it who cares. Good field of view, nice glass. While I wouldn't need to dial at the distance, I probably...

.223 rem vs 6.5 cr for first mid range rifle

6.5 will make things easier in the wind, if it's consistent you'll be able to figure it out. The distance part is easy, figuring the wind will take forever. :) I have one savage left, it's now a .223 and is really accurate, but the Tikka is a far better rifle. You can get prefits for it too.

    Garmin Xero C1 Pro chronograph

Do you need an adapter for 1/4-20? You could buy one or make it in a few minutes with a drill and a tap. I remember making a wood plate with a nut sert for a bipod. Worked well enough that I haven't changed in out in three years. :D

375 Raptor, bolt gun or gas gun for precision hunting rifle?

How about a 35 whelen, you can get it over 2800 fps with a 180 grain bullet.

Rifle Scopes Scope for Remington 700 Under $1000

Old one I guess, it was several years ago, I'd never buy another XTR II, one sample but the glass was terrible. I have two of the XTRIII's, they're great.

.223 rem vs 6.5 cr for first mid range rifle

Get the .223 and shoot something like the 77 SMK. At 300 it will do well, wind will affect it more than the larger calibers but it should be fine. Mine is just as accurate at 300 as my 6.5.

Rifle Scopes Scope for Remington 700 Under $1000

The glass in the XTRII I had was terrible, sent it in for repair and it came back the same. Everything other than the 50 year old Tasco on my .35 rem has better glass. The turrets were great and tracked well.

    Garmin Xero C1 Pro chronograph

I shot my .22 down a lane in an apple orchard. Recorded every shot without issue.

    New to the 10/22 game

I already have too many 10/22's but if I were to build another it would be with the Feddersen action. I have one of his barrels on another rifle. I have JWH bolts in three of them that work great. Kidd trigger is the best, but costly, you can send a factory trigger out to Brimstone and have a...

    Rifle Scopes $700 scope comparison

I'm guessing you were looking through them all at max power. The Athlon is finicky at max power, dial it back a bit and it's much easier. The Burris is better but twice the price. I prefer the SCR reticle which is a little thicker and doesn't have the tree for a hunting reticle.

    Ole School Tikka M695 Upgrades?

Waters mags are well made, mine feed better than factory or AICS. But they aren't cheap and he will even tell you that you should order multiple items as shipping costs are high too. Newer tikka triggers will probably work too. I have a 595 in .308 and the timney 2 stage works in it.

    Garmin Xero C1 Pro chronograph

Got mine on Wed, it sure is small. Took it out today and shot my .22 in an orchard out of town. Registered every shot, put it on a nicer desktop tripod I already had for other photo work. This is far better than my magnetospeed or the lab radar I borrowed from a friend and couldn't ever get...

    Rifle Scopes $700 scope comparison

Were they 1-10's. Seems like most brands have issues with mag range.

    Rifle Scopes $700 scope comparison

Absolutely not my experience, but I only have 5 of them I've used regularly over the past several years.
