I have found that in the cold mine likes to take a single "range" button press as two presses which kicks it into scan mode. The super cold LCD screen on a normal single button press takes about a second or two to display a firing solution so when in scan mode the screen just never ends up...- Rinky

I agree 100%. The fire button being centered and the smallest button of a mass of directional pad buttons that are rarely used once initially set up really is a disappointment.
