Rifle Scopes Opinions on the Tenmile Trijicon

Barbour creek runs then on his school guns and they get shot a lot. Lots of turrets twisting and he has no complaints. Some of his actions and scopes have over 10,000 rounds on them. I believe I heard him say some are approaching 15 thousand rounds.

    EP-5 or something else?

Athlon helos gen 2 6-24x56 is superior to the Arken in glass, turrets are a wash. Parallax is less sensitive as well. The ep5 is a great scope for the money, I sold mine after spending some time with both and really picking things apart at long range with them. The 4x zoom seems to give a better...

    Elevation and Turrets

Depending on the action being used, sometimes you have to bed the rear of the base. Remove rear base screws and tighten the front screws and look for a gap at the rear base screw area. If there is a gap, bed it back there.

    Arken EP5 vs

The helos turrets are every bit as good as the ares turrets, probably feel a little better in my opinion. The locking feature is a little stiff but it’s leaps and bounds better in the turret department than the strike eagle 5-25 and 3-18. I think the locking feature gives it a one up on the ares...

    Arken EP5 vs

I got mine in, it’s just as I remember. Good glass, eyebox is better than the ep5 which is why I got away from it. Turrets are definitely improved over the gen one, they have decent clicks, nothing like the Arken but they are smaller in diameter so the clicks are closer together. No lash in...

Precision Rifle Gear 2023 BigJimFish Reviw/Article blog: Arken, HiLux, Bushnell, Primary Arms, Optisan, nVisti, Sightron, Levels

Great review as always. I commented on the review page but not sure it went thru. I’m in zanesville and grew up a few miles from rayners. I know how far it is from Columbus to rayners and I know you put a lot of out of pocket money in to do this. But it really does help people choose scopes...

    Arken EP5 vs

I got a ares btr coming today from Amazon. 606$ on sale. I had the gen 1 ares btr and it was one of the best sub 1k$ scopes I ever owned. I’m anxious to compare it side by side to the gen2 helos. Looking forward to your comparison.

    Arken EP5 vs

I like the deploy mil reticle of the MP. But it comes down to what guys like or need. I like 34mm scopes, a lot of guys are running the arkens on 22s because of the 30 plus mils of elevation travel. 18 mils total elevation travel of the Mp limit a lot of shooters in that regard.

    Choosing a optic under $700

One of the things about the ep5 besides the eye box, is on my particular unit I had to constantly reach up to the parallax knob and adjust it, really sensitive is how I describe it, it never wanted to stay put, even just sitting on the bench looking thru it it would just need constant...

Scope base recoil lug necessary for .308

I agree with OREGUN, if it moves, it will move. I think the purpose of the lug is to take some of the load off the mount screws, which is especially useful when using 30 plus ounce scopes on heavy recoiling rifles. I’m not familiar with the adjustable lug mounts, but I see potential problems...

Scope base recoil lug necessary for .308

Burris steel base has the lug too. I won’t buy another base without one no matter the cartridge. Just nice piece of mind with no negative effects.

    Choosing a optic under $700

I personally think the Burris is a better choice over the Arken just on years of testing with shooters for reliability, it’s right there with the bushy dmr 2 as far as reliable track record. Im just disappointed in the parallax sensitivity and eye box with the Arken after comparing it to the...

    Choosing a optic under $700

Hey mudd, how’s the eye box on the Burris compared to the ep5? It’s been several years since I looked thru a xtr2.

Rifle Scopes What's the REAL story on SWFA?

It is, their HD models are LOW as you may already know.

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

The only similarities are the three lug bolt head. The bolts are different but the bolt head is similar.

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

It’s a great starter rifle. Tune the trigger to 2.5 pounds or so, put an effective muzzle brake on it, shoot a forgiving bullet like a eld and have fun.

    Arken EP5 vs

The ep5 is great for the money, I’d choose it over the venom any day, I used to say I’d choose it over the pst 2, but I’ve seen sales where you can get the pst2 for a little over 600$. That changes things, I couldn’t ever justify the price difference, yiu just weren’t getting that much more for...

Rifle Scopes Advice for what scope to get, details within

If I had 1k$ to spend I look here in the classifieds for a used Burris xtr3, Athlon Chronus btr, or a bushnell xrs2. They all can be had for 1k or slightly above. There’s a couple more choices in that 1k$ used market but those three are solid, very dependable mechanics and good enough glass.

MPOs now $699- a good budget choice ?

I had the crimson trace series 5 version 3-18. Same manufacturer as the mpo and Riton. It was a solid scope, tracked true. I used it on a lapua for a while and cranked it back and forth from 100 to 1760 yards, never a hiccup, the glass compared well to a dmr2, not great but very usable. My only...
