Help reading groups for seating depth test (pics)

your groups are ALL the same. just pick any your load; they all shot the SAME. if you test for powder charge and seating depth, take LARGE steps. like at least 1gr of powder and 0.050'' jump. if you test 0.003'' difference of OAL and 0.2gr difference of powder charge, your group difference...

I'll Post This Here - Hornady's Podcast #50. I thought it was one of their best, but some reloaders might not like what they see....

approximate multiplying factors (50-shot group / x-shot group), but I thing they should be corrected by real statistics: https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/here-to-stir-pot-on-seating-depth.7141863/page-3#post-10519589

agging is of course 'avergare'. and that is perfectly fine for 5-shot groups. because all goups (3-/5-/10-shot... follow gauss/normal distribution pattern; from very very small (very rare event) to very very large (also very very rare event): and average is just average of all those groups...

I'll Post This Here - Hornady's Podcast #50. I thought it was one of their best, but some reloaders might not like what they see....

it is quite simple. they have group for one game, and 'agg' for whole match, and 'agg' for whole season. and of course an 'agg' for whole season is composed from very very tiny groups and some that are quite large. but sample size of 5-shot groups is quite big so and AVERAGE of all those groups...

well, you must understand statistics too, you know... even 3-shot group is statistic! just not confident about next 3-shot group. or average 3-shot group. but when Erik Cortina shot 10 3-shot groups and average at 0.3 MOA, and non of those groups are super large, that's very confident outcome...

RCBS Summit Press? Would you get one?

it is a very common crack, because there is very small amount of material in the linkage: but yes, you must put a lot of pressure into the ram. but you are pushing only on one side, this is the problem. anyway, this is design fault. not reloaders.. and in mine press concentricity of the...

    Brass Weight Comparison

in 2015 i have lapua 223 brass weighted 93-97gr, now they are more or less 96-99gr. they are getting heavier. but the other day I shot one piece of 95,6gr and one of 99,2gr. both virgin brass, but different LOT and probably different year of production. and the difference in velocity with...

RCBS Summit Press? Would you get one?

I modyfied all three cross pins. upper because you can destroy your press, and other two because their pins are too short and linkage is at threads, not at full body on the pin. and because I modified upper pin, I cant use long seating dies. I shorten excessive seating pin on Forster seating...

    Does concentricity matter?

uh wow, we have a WINNER !!! applause please !

    To anneal or not

Bryan Litz and Hornady prooved with lot of sample size that annealing does NOT improve velocity SD nor group size, so why you loosers lie about your bad groups and annealing?

    Peterson Virgin Brass Pressure Signs

me too, but I hate their too tight primer pockets, expecialy with european primers. but now I bought Lapua 284 brass (only for a stockpile; because I expect that peterson will last for years), because there is no more Peterson on the planet...

    Peterson Virgin Brass Pressure Signs

so you all dont like some brand of the brass, but noone is comparing how accurate is your gun within those brands? what are you looking for? the most shiny brass?

Range Report Group size means little

Ledzep, do you have a number, what is average or ''expected'' move of POI for velocity ? for heavy match barrel ? at 100 YARDS !! so how many inch ''center of the group'' goes up, if velocity is 100fps higher? you said that this is linear, right? Sincerely

    Primer seater

yes, it makes sense. every time the same contact and cam-over, and lower brass in the shellholder. better than increasing force of cam-over. but for precision priming you should measure all primer pockets and all primers, if you want to have the same crush in all brass. but if you want to have...

    Primer seater

i dont think so. X is changing in UP direction? and bottom is the same ? can you measure averall height of all shellholders?

    OCW results/interpretation?

OP do yourself a favour and read this thread: https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/ill-post-this-here-hornadys-podcast-50-i-thought-it-was-one-of-their-best-but-some-reloaders-might-not-like-what-they-see.7152297/ and stop halucinating about 'nodes', 'OCW', 'ladder'...

    Primer seater

JCCinOHIO you dont know how competition shellholder works and how priming is done. Competition shellholders have SAME base dimension, just upper portion is higher: http://www.redding-reloading.com/images/stories/2020PressInfo/2021_Redding_Catalog.pdf
