***NEW*** Silencer Shop Exclusive 3" Ruger MK-IV 22/45 SSH (Silencer Shop Host)

It was my Dad's. I got if off him when he gave up shooting due to age and ill health. I already had a couple of .22 pistols for shooting competitions, so I thought I'd turn this one into a fun plinker.

***NEW*** Silencer Shop Exclusive 3" Ruger MK-IV 22/45 SSH (Silencer Shop Host)

I had a 'spare' 22/45 that I had cut down and threaded for a suppressor. Very quiet with the MAE stainless can. Feeds the subsonic Winchester power point profile hollow points perfectly.

Does anyone here use a stock 10-22?

Fairly stock. Just a couple of little bits: Extended butt pad and a Volquartson hold open. Oh, and a Parker Hale suppressor and a torch for spotlighting pests. Purchased new in 1987-88. 4x Tasco world class scope:

    Must-watch war movies?

My old boss at the police firearms range was an artillery forward observer with 161 Battery during the Veitnam War. At the time of the Long Tan battle he was sick in bed with malaria but helped, like everyone else, drag 105mm ammo to the gun lines. When Chris left the range, he donated a...

    Case Gauges?

I have, and love, the Sheridan slotted gauge. All my Blackout brass is converted by myself from various .223 / 5.56 cases. If there's an issue with the case, or the loaded round, I can see what it is instantly

Don't forget having to boil an egg (very well done) every couple of weeks to replace the ball.

New Zealand farmer/ranchers take in the ass.

The National Party, who have a 90% chance of forming the next government in New Zealand after the October elections, have already said they will resume live animal exports.

Best Color Bravo Stock to Start with for a Camo Paint Job?

Yep. It's always easier to darken something light, than to lighten something dark. Whether a rifle stock or an army truck.

PELICAN Cases: Storm, Air, or Protector?

Exactly my experience. My Pelican case weights 12kg. (Over 26 pounds). Haven't used it in about 20 years. Sitting in the basement.

Show us pictures of your Tacticool dog!

This was Sasha. She was an operational police dog for about two years before getting fired and becoming a pet. She was fired because sometimes if she got bored tracking an offender, she would just give up. She was sent for retraining with a new handler but never fully had the drive needed to...

    Rubber Bands on bolt guns?

In some matches the bolt must be open when moving between positions and the band may be to ensure that it stays open. A 'self-retracting' bolt might be a little bit faster to use and have positive ejection. I dunno. I do like that shooting prop made from the crossed stair stringers though. I...

Some 'unusual' wiring in Samoa a few years ago.

    No.4 Mk.1 1943

This is the breach area of the No.9 rifle. You can see the similar rear sights (calibrated for .22LR) and the .22LR chamber. The rifles were converted from No.4 rifles by sleeving the barrel with a .22LR liner and modifying the bolt head with an offset firing pin. Action markings:

    No.4 Mk.1 1943

I've got one of those peep sights in a box somewhere. I'll have to see if I can fit it to my Lee Enfield No.9 rifle (looks externally like a No.4 but is a single shot in .22LR).

    Bergara 14R CF vs Steel

I got the steel barrel mainly in case I ever decide to trim a few inches off it to offset the extra length the suppressor adds. Also because carbon fibre doesn't do much for me. Nothing against it, just not for me.

This is what happens when dirty nasty socialists get bold

NZ Police used a few 40mm sponge sponge rounds and changed a few behaviours.

    British Broad Arrow marked Alaskan

Two arrows facing, forming a star, with an S on either side was the usual sold out of service marks on firearms at least.

    Bergara b-14r pic thread

I like mine more and more every time I shoot it. Still working on finding the most accurate ammo for it and the best value for accuracy and price. I can't afford to shoot Tennex or RWS R50 all the time.

Pretentious university has the audacity to demand you change your vocabulary

Seems like you didn't bother the read the article. If you did, you would have seen that the reason they are banishing it is exactly because there is no such word. From the article: “It makes my hair hurt.” As well it should—because it’s not a word.
