I am sick of hearing about people and snow.
Who is ready to hear some painful truths? I'm amazed at how many dudes here think 4x4s and trucks are inherently good vehicles for driving in the snow. 4 wheel drive doesn't mean 4 wheel stop. @W54/XM-388 gets it. Those listed values for the Storm cases are the weight with foam. Without foam, they're about 4-5 lbs lighter each and close to $100 cheaper. Also, the Air Tech bags don't allow you to use them as checked bag under a plane. For me (frequent flyer) the only logical option is a hard Pelican case...- ClangClang

No, they do not amplify any ambient noise. I don't normally have any issue hearing the timer buzzer or general range commands when wearing foamies so it's not a problem I've ever had to deal with. Alternative recommendation: Bluetooth technology combined with hearing pro is simply not there yet. Walkers has a couple options but you'll see from reviews that they're mediocre at best.
