    Yes, that tube is too long. You'll never know if that's really part of the problem until you get it corrected. Usually they're too short. Either way, it messes with the timing.

    Lock bcg to the rear. Drop mag. Turn rifle upside down and make sure the gas tube terminates halfway of the round cutout for the cam pin. MANY 308 AR style rifles have the gas port drilled in the barrel just enough off to make the tube come out too short.
