    I’d put a very strong vote in for the Vortex Razor AMG. Very very good dual purpose optic and comes in at 28oz. Granted the 6-24x might not be ideal for short range hunting scenarios. But it’s just as good in the field as it is shooting a PRS match. It does both equally well.

    Shot this 5 shot group yesterday at 100 yards with the above mentioned fire forming load. Continues to print in the .3’s. Took it out to 700 yards on steel with no issues.

    I see no reason why you can’t clamp the barrel at the shank area that isn’t wrapped. As long as you have enough room to do that without touching the Carbon wrap with your barrel vice your fine. Especially since the action will be secured as well, you shouldn’t need a lot of tension on the barrel...
