During 1958, funds were provided to production engineer the T275E4 design and prepare a technical data package for mass production. It was during this effort that definitive weights and tolerances for the bullet and its components were determined, and a two-draw bullet jacket process evolved...

The history of M24 Sniper ammunition is documented in this article. Main focus is on the transition from M118 173gr. to the M852 168gr. The article is dated prior to 1980, and does not describe 175gr loadings. NOTE: In the study cited, evaluations of several commercial match grade bullets for...

M24 SWS #US C8645212 with scope rings mounted in reverse position (nuts on right side). SIMRAD AN/PVS-9 night vision sight rail replaces upper front ring. Note jacked up Redfield rear sight base gouged from torque wrench tightening. Both rail slot positions did not allow enough clearance to...

Badger Ordnance M24 SWS scope rail 8-40 screws, issued item p/n: 306-07 M24. It doesn't show the interference fitment of an original M24. But the Redfield sight base has been hand beveled to fit an original issue rifle. If that upper bevel had not been chamfered off, you could imagine how the...

I think it is the opposite of what you said. Standard Remington scope base threads are 6-48. Army spec'd them to enlarged 8-40. So its simpler (easier) to open up your GG&G & McCann rails to the larger size. I've done it many times using quality taps by hand.

Beveling of the Redfield rear sight base, also called the "Cloward style", needed to be done for the early issue L&S Ultra 30mm ringsets. The nuts were machined with a shallow depth collar section that caused the tightening flats to gouge the top of the Redfield. Later issue rings had longer...

Best idea is maybe post a WTT offer where you swap out your HS buttstock with someones M24R buttstock. If theres is slightly worn, they may want to upgrade to a brand new one

The .175" "A" base is the correct hight. Dont forget to add 2 screws, although the Freeland offering is flat bladed screwdriver. The M24 used allen heads.

Go back one page here, post #1888 is the Freelands website page for their reproduction front sight base with hole spacing measurments. They also sell a reproduction Redfield rear sight base that fits the Remington screw holes. Take-off original issue Redfield bases are scarce and expensive.

Looks like a legit Remington Defense or Remington Law Enforcement release. Double check it has their 5R 11.25" twist rate barrel, and you're gtg. One minor detail is the buttpad is the heavier commercial version of the HS Precision stock, so its probably stamped with "HS Precision" versus the...
