    Nucleus Build Pictures

thanks for the quick replies. I would like to develop a load for the 308 and then the 6.5 but would like to spend some time shooting the 308 to get used to it and then I'll swap over to the 6.5 and stretch it's legs out. I assumed it was good to go, but since I'm new to the precision bolt side...

    Nucleus Build Pictures

So I have a nucleus question- this is my first "custom" action and I just got the action wrench. I've got two barrels, a short 308 and a longer 6.5CM. I have the 308 currently mounted up, but how often do you guys change barrels? not necessarily when it's shot out, but do you swap out barrels...

    Suppressors Suppressed Contenders anyone

I've got a 96/44 Ruger lever gun that I'm trying to find someone to thread. Most don't want to mess with something out of the ordinary but I think it would be fun. the 44 bolt guns with integral cans are pretty cool, thought the lever might be cool, fast and quiet.

    Suppressors Suppressed Contenders anyone

I have wanted to find someone to thread a 22lr barrel I have, and then maybe buy/thread a 44 mag and shoot 300gr specials thru it. Maybe the 44 needs to come first, I think the 22lr would get old having a single shot. My bolt 77/22 with can is stupid quiet with CCI quiets, and at least you can...

Talk me out of a folder

I bought a folder (MDT ACC) but mainly because I wanted to be able to shorten the rifle for transport and bags and if I decide to carry it longer distances. Looking at the mechanics, I would doubt it would develop any play unless it was seriously abused (more so than run of the mill abuse).

since this thread is back near top- any of you running a Vortex Razor 4.5-27 on the nuke? what height rings (MDT ACC chassis if it matters) are you using? was assuming around 1" height but figured I'd see if I could verify so I can get some rings on the way before the scope gets here..

    Supercross? AMA? MotoGP?

hopefully not a spoiler for anyone about the MotoGP races.... but pretty excited for KTM to have their first win in MotoGP. I've watched them for a while on the AMA MX/SX and international MXGP racing and their methods for moving forward and they seem to be on their way in MotoGP. I know...

    Supercross? AMA? MotoGP?

For me the only reviews that matter are Road Racing World. When they dyno test bikes they do it right, as well as any other testing. I've been involved with them in the past from a manufacturers standpoint, and while you may want to argue about the outcome, it's hard to argue with their testing...

Rifle Scopes Philosophy of high end optics...

Law of diminishing returns. Of course as you get past a certain point, the improvements are going to be minor. Maybe you like the reticle. Maybe you like the feel of the turrents. Maybe you like the color of the scope. Maybe you just want the satisfaction of knowing that you have the best and...

    Supercross? AMA? MotoGP?

MotoGP starting this weekend finally! Can't wait to see how the teams have prepped for this year and the riders. SX is over and pretty happy with the Tomac title. Feel bad for KR but he'll get him time in the light. Just needs to have a few cards fall his way, maybe next year. 250 class was...

    Supercross? AMA? MotoGP?

I should be at Road A and Barber barring other commitments. Haven't missed many years of either round, so should be nice this year having it later in the season at least for Barber. got youtube tv now so I can watch some of the Motoamerica racing. Saw the highlights of Road America, and will...

    Supercross? AMA? MotoGP?

So far the SLC SX action has been decent. I haven't watched Sundays race yet but its nice to see some racing. Need to figure out of I can watch the AMA road racing show with the channels I get, and then cross my fingers for WSBK and MotoGP to start up again. haven't seen much there, so not...

    Badrock Vs MPA

I shot the Bad Rock at the last Precision Rifle Expo and was able to handle the MPA. There's really no wrong answer as they both were excellent rifles with a bit different approach. IMHO the Defiance action on the Bedrock is a step up, but the whole package is really pretty solid and evenly...

    Supercross? AMA? MotoGP?

sounds like Supercross will be back on May 31st. All remaining races will be held in SLC, UT. Sunday night and Wednesday nights they will have races. Not sure about attendance, but as long as I have live racing to watch on TV i'll be happy. I know MotoAmerica is starting back up and have their...

    New to reloading, help

reading back on it I agree- start with a single stage press to get the basics down. I have an RCBS that's over 40 years old and I still use it a lot for developing loads and loading precision rounds. Everything you need to reload can be used with either press. Unless you are pumping out 300+...

    New to reloading, help

looks pretty solid. Personally I'd get a Frankford arsenal rotary tumbler with SS pins instead of the sonic cleaner. Make your own spray lube or buy Dillon. Might be hard to find isopropyl alcohol right now to make you own but I seem to recall a hide member selling it (lanolin and alcohol). I...

    Lake City 308 brass?

not necessarily preferred, but as mentioned, most people with bolt guns are probably looking to extract all the precision out of the rifle. Not that semi autos are not capable of that (or the LC brass) but from what i've seen, LC is perfectly capable brass, but on the lower end of the price...

    Lake City 308 brass?

semi auto or a bolt gun? If semi auto for sure. Bolt gun, decide what kind of precision you want and loadings. The only issue I could see with the LC brass is it's generally thicker, so you have to work up loads a bit lighter than the manuals because you get higher pressure from the lower case...

    Lake City 308 brass?

Same boat. picked up a 308 AR a while ago and a bunch of LC brass. I just picked up a small base die so I'll probably run most of the brass back thru the die and then confirm OAL and retumble so it's all ready to load. Shot a bunch of 147/150gr plinker loads as well as some 175SMK's. Just got...

    Suppressors Centerfire Pistol Cans

I'm partial to the Dead Air Ghost. Short or long configurations, easy to disassemble for cleaning (most baffles are easy to clean in a tumbler with SS pins). I use it on FN 45tac and 509 tac. very happy with it. They just moved to a new manufacturing facility so cans and parts are just now...
