Spotters Spotting Scope Setups - Show Em!

Cheapo Bushnell Tactical works great for my needs. Vortex Impact for the occasional time I need a range. Triad Tactical cover to to hide my poverty spotter. RRS Tripod and tilt pan thingy. True North Raven tripod cover with a grenade pouch that holds a clicker and kestrel pouch. Had an old...

    22 dasher build.

In a 22 I shoot a BRA and not Dasher. I have two reamers, a long 0.160" which I got to try 95 SMKs and a 0.130" for 85.5gr Bergers or 90gr SMK. For the reamer I'd go with a FB in the 0.115" to 0.130" range for the 85.5gr and similar projectiles.

    Accuracy International AT-X

Mlok is great on carbines with skinny barrels and light weight handguards. It's not so great on precision rifles since the hardware protrudes into the barrel channel. The AI keyslot is technically better for precision rifles which use heavy barrels and have thick walled handguards. But it has...

No Fee for Surppressors or short barrell rifles

I never cared about the $200 fee when making already expensive purchases. The NFA registration and classification is what was meaningful and that's unchanged.

Dillon 550 sizing and seating on Rifle

I was using Redding die wax. Use it sparingly and maybe clean out your funnel every few hundred rounds to prevent it gumming up. Once you build the muscle memory with the 550 you won't want to go back to single stage. You can load rounds that perform equally as well in less time. It's 100%...

Dillon 550 sizing and seating on Rifle

That is what I do to prevent corn cobb or whatever media stuck in the flash hole. Tool head #1: - Station 1: Full-length neck/body sizing die with decapping pin. - S2: mandrel Clean with the ultrasonic every time. Occasionally tumble to polish up the brass. Anneal every time; usually all the...

Dillon 550 sizing and seating on Rifle

I loaded thousands of rounds this way and can state it will work well. The biggest downside I found was that excessive case lube would cause powder to occasionally jam up the powder funnel which would usually mean the powder dumps all over the place on the downstroke. I found using die-wax and...

    22 ARC & 95 SMKs

I’ve shot the 95gr SMKs in my 22 BRA and found they shot amazing at 100 but lacked enough spin to reach their advertised BC. 32.4gr H4350, 2920 fps. Even with a 1:7 and 300,000 RPM the G7 trued at 0.283 compared to the 0.299 Sierra states. And this was with a 0.160” freebore reamer to fit these...

Varget in 6mm GT (sorry so fabulous i forgot to add which 6)

My theory is Varget and H4350 are the same thing just in different kernel sizes to affect burn rate. I never noticed Varget being a dirty powder. It seems to have completely average fouling.

How do you guys organize ammo when testing?

This but using a label maker instead of a sharpie.

    Extra barrel storage

I made a wall rack to store them at home. To bring out to the range I will either use the TAB sleeves or my deeper case has cut outs for barrels in the bottom layer. Also I've just laid them in the bed of my truck also and that works just fine.

Do you drink anything while shooting?

Water. Even shooting positional PRS stages all day just doesn't require much work.

How long is too long for a bolt gun barrel and suppressor?

DRT for dyslexics :) As long as your not carrying it around then any the extra length won't be an issue until the length gets absurd. I have no issues with a 27" barrel plus TBAC 338 SR can with a bench/prone gun.
