Need help with Wilson Combat 6 arc issue

Not a 6 ARC, but I have a 16" WC in 5.56 w/Intermediate gas & it's slightly over-gassed. I did not use an AGB or adjustable gas key as I normally do, but it could benefit from one, but it functions OK & is more accurate than I expected, cleans up well & has a nice looking bore. Had a (tight) HS...

StaBall Match Testing - 77gr Reloads, Chasing mk262

You're right. By "regular" Staball, I meant 6.5 Staball, of course. Many thanks for the correction. MM

StaBall Match Testing - 77gr Reloads, Chasing mk262

Old thread obviously, but please confirm that this is regular Staball & not the Match version? Thanks. MM

Mk12 Setup for High Pressure Loads?

Quote from Constructor "One thing to consider is the specs of the barrel when trying to get maximum performance. A 6 groove barrel with a 50:50 land to groove ratio will create more engraving force than a 3 groove with a low land to groove ratio. That comes on as peak pressure is being...

    One Stop shop

The BCM list above is as good as any for an everyday multi-use, non-precision rifle & their CFH barrels are very good, but none in a 16" intermediate gas length...........in fact I don't know of any readily available AM, 16" chrome lined barrels in intermediate, several are available in SS. But...

What's the best performing 223 AR load/bullet if you had to choose one?

With 77 SMK'S & Nosler 77 CC's, I'm using 24.7 gr of 540 in Win & LC brass with Wolf or Rem primers. In an 18" barrel, I get 2740ish. Safe range has been up to 25.3 with no pressure signs but 24.7 -25 gives best accuracy for me. MM

    Gas blocks

This will fit. https://slrrifleworks.com/gb9-micro-gas-block/ They make an adjustable, but it needs a 1.4" ID rail to fit underneath. MM

What's the best performing 223 AR load/bullet if you had to choose one?

I'll keep an eye out for Benchmark, that's one I've never tried. BR shooter friend who originally introduced me to 8208, once told me that H-335 was the predecessor of 8208 & is essentially the same, but 335 is a ball powder & 8208 is a fine stick powder, so maybe he meant 322 & I've never...

What's the best performing 223 AR load/bullet if you had to choose one?

LGS who always seems to have the most powder of any of the other locals, says he really has no idea what he's going to get until he gets it. You'd surely think that the Big Guys like Powder Valley, Midway, Brownells, Mid-South, etc., would preferentially get the most, the fastest just because...

    Armorer's tools for AR-15

Pretty hard to get all that you need from any one manufacturer . Also depends on how for you want to go on the list of possibilities. MM

What's the best performing 223 AR load/bullet if you had to choose one?

I buy most of my powder online at 7 - 10 larger distributors & I also use a search bot for components that can search lots of suppliers very quickly for a given item. And I haven't seen any 8208 for sale anywhere in at least the last year. And the last time I did see it, the price was more that...

What's the best performing 223 AR load/bullet if you had to choose one?

Safety Warning for Berger 77 grain OTM: Pressure Testing Update

Just tested loads with 23.1 gr AR-Comp & the 77 Berger OTM last week in 3 different guns, 3 different barrels. No visible pressure signs on any of the brass, virgin 2019 LC with Wolf Mag primers. I did not chrono this load it, but 22.9 grains of AR-Comp with the same brass/primer & 77 SMK's...

What's the best performing 223 AR load/bullet if you had to choose one?

I still have nearly 8 lb of 8208 that I bought from a friend as well, but I've developed loads with VV-N540, VV-140, AR-Comp & 2000-MR that all perform as well or better than 8208 with 69/77's. Both 540 & the 2000-MR give a little higher velocity, with 140 & AR-Comp doing about the same as...

Thoughts on Nitrided Bolts in 2022?

Ion Bond is the name of a company that does both CrN & DLC, via the PVD process that they call IonBond. DLC has a very low COF, so it's very slick, but it does not really absorb oil. CrN is not quite as hard with a somewhat less COF. Neither do anything to the undying base material other than...

If it's 12-13 rounds <.5 MOA, you can brag on the innanet.......................... MM

    Rock Creek Barrels

If they're MOA or better, I'll take 'em but they don't have to be <1/2 MOA.......................:ROFLMAO: Prolly don't have to worry much except for 3-shot groups though. MM

    Rock Creek Barrels

Read the following...................you might learn something but I highly doubt it. I'm going to assume that one so all knowing as yourself will know who Jack Leuba is, but in slim chance that you don't, his creds are at the bottom of the post below. I'm done with anymore discussion with...

    Rock Creek Barrels

Never said I didn't care. But there's a point of diminishing returns. What will a sub- half MOA gun do that a consistent MOA gun won't do in real life at sane ranges & in the hands of a decent shooter. Except shoot bragging rights groups for the innanet. Show me a Faxon or BA barrel that is...
